What control style is everyone going with? I've mostly been playing with a Gamecube controller, but I just bought a classic controller to try that out as well. Are the Wii remote controls worth using?

I played it with the Hori Arcade stick, which doubles as the CC. It was fantastic.

I've been using the generic nun chuck setup and it's worked fine.
The jumping is a little awkward though and I don't always get the precise control i need when fighting say momohime's final boss.
Having said that, after you beat the game, being able to warp from save point to save point is awesome. Especially coupled with the item that increases enemy encounters.
I spent some time last night dealing with the white enemy lairs.
New combo record: 854.
Gale II, on Kisuke's weapon from the final boss, plus sharpening stones, plus a retread of the caterpillar boss, equals tons of hits.
I had almost no trouble at all with the "Five Giant Pinwheel Shuriken Guys" lair. However, it might help that I was, again, using Gale II (which, like all "wheel of death" arts, is utterly and totally broken) and Meteor II.
Had to heal a hell of a lot with the silver ninja one... I think it was called "The Scheming Yagza Clan". Those guys are real bastards. However! Guess what destroyed them? Gale II! Not only can you use it to gather all those guys in one place, when they start dropping bombs when they fall over, it automatically deflects the bombs and blows everyone up all at once. Gale II is good times.
I finally faltered at the Giant Oni one. The little red dudes were easy, as usual. I struggled through the red and blu Oni, then got killed by a few stupid mistakes against the green guys. So I tried again, made sure to juggle the greens into a corner and keep them trapped there. I felt like I total badass! Then they dropped four more Oni on me. Suffice to day I died instantly. I think I'll try being the recommended level next time.

Finally finished Kisuke's campaign. So for the true ending, do I have to fight both final bosses again with the new weapons, or is it connected to what the white barriers lead to?

I was wondering the samething I finished Momo's story last night and it said for alternate endings use differant weapons & finish Kisuke too. So just finish with a differant sword and it gives you another or a specific sword? The last battle was fun as hell though!

I know Inugami from SMT now looks like a puppy compared to Muramasa's.

That is correct. In order to get the second endings, you need the Mumei Tamanoo from Kisuke's Arc and Tsukiotoshi from Momohime's Arc. For the third ending, you need to finish the White Barrier lairs to grab the blades needed to forge the Oboro Muramasa. Not all of the White barrier lairs carry the swords though.
On a related note, I've finally grabbed all the blades. The only thing standing between me and total completion is "Total Pandemonium" or whatever that crazy damn White Lair is called. I guess I'm also missing the secret boss as well. Has anyone found the Octopus monster yet?

Isn't the Octopus connected to the final ending as an optional boss?
And my Kisuke is Level 97, having gained almost 30 levels from the white barriers alone. The only one I haven't done is Total Pandemonium.
Total Pandemonium was a bit of a disappointment, actually.
The Kisuke and Momohime clones at the end can be beaten by spamming normal attacks with a Blade. Seriously. That's how I won.
Like... difficulty wise? Or prize wise? That being said, I have not been able to use the high end blades I had prior to acquiring all the blades. As for the second ending bosses. Yeah, a bit of a disappointment there in how blade spamming was all there was to beating them.
Evidently the script was mutilated in the translation. What's delivered in English is the bare minimum you need to understand the events that are going on; people actually say a lot more in Japanese though damned if I know what any of it is.

I understand enough to pick out when names and key formalities are being spoken, and they're not in the subs at all. According to the credits, the localization was outsourced.
Still, even without the hack translation, the game does start the story right from the middle, and expects you to pick up what happened before that along the way.

Just got the soundtrack for this today, not an easy item to find or get. Was $60 shipped from Amazon.co.jp, but well worth it. The packaging is just gorgeous and it sounds so dang good. 3 discs, all printed with hi-res full-color labels, a full-color booklet with a bit of info and a lot of artwork and a slip cover to keep the double-jewel case in. Composition is by Basiscape, in this case composed and arranged by Hitoshi Sakimoto himself (FF Tactics, Vagrant Story, Radiant Silvergun, Odin Sphere, Valkyria Chronicles).

I've got FFT, Dragon Quarter, Odin Sphere, and FFTA2 - how does this compare? I'm a Sakimoto fan, but I haven't played the game yet.

. . . *ahem*. . . I finally got around to playing this after picking it up on sale roughly a year or so ago. . . Man is it pretty. It is also pretty tough considering how hectic the action is and how one button used to attack, block, blade dash and so forth can make things pretty cumbersome at times. I'm using the Classic Controller by the way, and it works well; maybe the problem is that instead of the pad I'm using the control stick, which makes rolling out of the way more difficult than is should be. I never really liked the stick for angular controls in 2D games, like in Smash Bros.
Still, very much worth it so far, and I love how the art style manages to convey more character and life than most high-poly marquee releases on the more powerful systems these days. Makes me wanna pick up a Vita and Dragon's Crown more than ever now.

I actually just beat Kisuke's campaign last weekend and loved the game. I definitely recommend using the control stick as I didn't have any control issues ever. Even doing three air slash dashes into a downward stab, upwards slash, repeat was easy in the end.
I haven't played Momohime's yet because...well after 11ish hours I didn't want to spend more time at that moment with that combat system. It's really fun and interesting, but not 20 hours in a row interesting. I am looking forward to her campaign.
Loved the art, especially the backgrounds. The wheat fields at golden hour...I need that as a wallpaper!

Sorry, I gotta say it...

I have, and failed to beat it twice. It's actually kind of a bitch.
Have you found the "fishing" minigame yet? The Octopus is found the same way; I think it's random as to which one you get when you go there.
I liked the second way more, though the third does piece together the events before the game.
Did Vanillaware just go out of their way to make the storytelling as vague as possible?

Just got Momohime's third ending, completing the game in full. Time now to attempt Shigurui mode!
(I died three times on the way to Giant Pinwheel Shuriken Guy. Oh god this is going to be awful.)

Damn. Everything about this game is gorgeous.
My only problem was that it seemed mashy as hell, and the centipede fight, especially, made my thumb hurt. Does it get better?
