I've been playing fingerstyle guitar for a while now and I'm trying to expand my repertoire. I know almost nothing about classical music and I'm looking for some recommendations of good classical guitar pieces to learn.
I only have two criteria.
A: I can find for free (legally) online. Out of copyright stuff.
B: Crowd pleasers. Not necessarily well-known, but fun to play/hear/see performed. Yes, I realize this is entirely subjective.
Thanks!

Sunburst by Andrew York is one of my favourite pieces. Romance is a staple of classical guitar. Although I forget who wrote it? (bad of me) Leyenda, which was already posted...Not as hard as it sounds? the intro in very easy yes, but the rest of the song? no. some of those chord changes and stretches are murder. But thats not what this thread is about.
Deerhunter theme song (movie)
Tons of studies by carcassi.

If you're playing something past the intro as a crowd pleaser, you're doing it wrong.

Haha i actually agree with you about this. xD Although, for the record, the whole song IS amazing...
Thanks for the suggestions, I've started working on Leyenda. You're right, it's not as difficult as it sounds, although it'll take some time to get up to speed.
edit: i don't know about the copyright situation with this one but, IMO, it's a pretty recognizeable tune
I'd say this absolutely counts, it sounds cool and most people would know it. The best you're probably going to find is a guitar tab, though, rather than sheet music.
Either that or pick it up by ear, if you can do that.
I have a tab for Classical Gas in Guitar Pro that includes the sheet music above the tabs. I could send that along if you like. GP just automatically includes it.
Great resource for anyone who wants to learn some classical guitar music.
In terms of what to learn, I've been working on Moonlight Sonata myself, and it's quite fun. I also recommend learning a version of Malaguena. It's a classic that is extremely fun to play and sounds great. I believe the version I learned was this one:

Forget it...
Manuel Barrueco is a favorite of mine.
He has an entire Bach album as well, worth picking up.

I think I can pass on learning the original for now, but it's on my to-do list. Thanks for offering Reznik.

But I can't look at it now due to being at work.
Amazing site. I clicked this thread just to recommend this.
