I have a 7800GT and it came with this little device. On one end there is a plug where I can plug it into my computer. On the other end, has these video components. There is S-video, the yellow video one, then a green, blue and red one.
Now, what exactly is this thing? I'm guessing I can hook something up to it, but what exactly?
I don't have the manual anymore so that can't help me.
Any answers would be great. Thanks guys.

If it's anything like my laptop, it's a video out. You can hook it up to a television, VCR, or anything with video inputs. The green/blue/red is a component out, the yellow is a composite/RCA out, and you already know the S-video is an S-video out.
Ahhh, but how would I hook it up to my television? I guess I would need a extra cable?
Also, is it possible to hook it up to my Playstation 2?
I just tried hooking my PS2 up but nothing came up. I have absolutely no idea how to switch to a different video mode like I would on my tv.
Also, say I did hook my tv up with those component cables, how exactly would my computer recognize the tv? The screen would just switch to the tv set or do I need some other software?
I have a 7900GT so I'm assuming its quite similar to the 7800.
If you have your component cables hooked up to your TV you can output your signal to the TV and watch videos, games, etc on your TV. I think to get the computer to recognize the TV as a second monitor you have to run the TV setup wizard (its been awhile since I've done mine and the whole control panel has changed for nVidia since then). Go to your nVidia Control Panel by either right-clicking on your desktop or regular Control Panel.
Once you run the TV Wizard and get your comp to recognize the TV, right click on the little nVidia logo in your system tray. Go to nView Display Settings --> Clone --> HDTV + Monitor. Now your computer is using the computer as your primary display, so video will playback on the TV, but you can still see the desktop on your PC to make it easy to start movies or whatnot.
I think this should help, lemme know if you have any other Qs

NVIDIA drivers come with some decent monitor-switching software.
You'd need a video input to connect your PS2. I'm reasonably sure that those are video outputs. To connect to your TV, yes, you'd need another cable, either S-video, composite, or component.
