The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
It was a couple weeks ago while wandering around Tokyo, I went to an arcade and saw huge lines for a "fighting"game, in quotes because although it was a standard two cabinet vs. set up on the fighting game floor the game looked like a shump, the guys were fighting against each other except with space ships and tons of bullets all over the place.
I guess it's new since the lines to get on it were long and wrapping around themselves and they also had it hooked up to big display screens.
Reasons I love obscure Japanese games: the logic goes out the fucking window.
"...forces deployed by Aria's Special Space Service ended in disaster as the terrorists triggered a self-detonation device, killing themselves and several civilians in the process."
If it's a self-detonation device, why did it have to be triggered?
Yup, that's it. Just imagine what was in that video up above, except new, on two arcade cabinets hooked up, with large audience screens above, and a huge crowd and line. It was nuts.
I guess the new one came out and thats what we saw, Senko no Ronde Duo.
There was a thread on this and it made it for about 4 posts.
Hey, my thread made it to at least 2 pages, sir. Unless there was another thread down the line somewhere.
Since no one mentioned it despite saying it came out in the US, it's called Wartech: Senko no Ronde in the West. So if you search for it, you should search for "Wartech." The game bombed in the US because only 5 of us liked it; also, there wasn't any advertising. I thought it was pretty great, though. I'd love to play with someone if any of you end up getting it and liking it. Good luck finding it, though.
Man. I hate you guys now for showing me ANOTHER Japanese only game that won't ever come over here.
It did come over here. And it had no advertising, launched at full $60 MSRP, and bombed pretty hard. I'd be surprised if there was any sort of online community left for it.
I picked it up a long time ago for about $20 but have barely played it. It's a lot like an aerial 2D Virtual On with curtain fire.

It looked like the gimped version came over. Not the beautiful arcade version. They did a shitty job advertising it and I would of picked it up had I known what it was.
*sigh* I'm still going to go out of my way to buy the crappy American version. I need to see if this is any good at all.
I still wish tetris grand master 2 and 3 came out in the states. I still wish change air blade would show up on XBLA.

It's the same game that the Japanese got. It's just, you know, old now.
The one that the OP is talking about is probably a sequel or update. Super Senko no Ronde Turbo or something.
Japanese Arcades are on SP currently, so Super Senko no Ronde Turbo isn't too far off. But yes, the 360 versions of Senko no Ronde Rev X are identical (besides language) on both sides of the pond.
And seriously the game is like $5 on Amazon, its not a huge monetary commitment. I will, however, state that Senko no Ronde is a lot like your standard fighting games in that if you don't have another person to play with you then it loses its appeal real quick. Keep that in mind.

A cookie to the first to name it correctly!

Like, the person using it explodes.
Except insanely shmup.
Yep, Senko no Ronde is what happened when Psychic Force and Gradius got in on underneath the bright neon lights of the arcade district.
Although none of us can probably play it...

Sweet. That's it.
Now someone give me $1,000 so I can fly back there and play it.
I KISS YOU!
EDIT - dangit I don't see it on Amazon.
The game is similar in many ways to Virtual On as well.

Steam ID : rwb36, Twitter : Werezompire,
Is that a download code? They have a list of their download codes and I can't find it that way.
It's an actual game, not an XBLA title.
Though i'd post this here because it just sounds awesome.
I would play this to death.

Its like tetris grand master all over again
Why the hell doesn't these awesome shump fighter games ever come over? I feel like its a conspiracy to punish us for some reason.

One of the reasons why I might get a 360.

No one's ever on, unless you get lucky and you're trying to start a game while some Japanese players are on.
