So, I am going to portland, driving, from central minnesota. We are going to be in portland for 6 days. 4 days driving total. So, if you could, suggest some must see places in Portland or inbetween here and there.

and I wonder about my neighbors even though I don't have them
but they're listening to every word I say

Go to Voodoo Doughnuts. They have the best doughnuts ever, one of them is called the Ol' Dirty Bastard.

If you're around for Friday night dinner or Sunday brunch and don't mind spending a few dollars for a classy meal, go to the Sympatica dining hall. I went to brunch and had the absolute best bacon cheeseburger I've ever had by a country mile for something like ten bucks.

All good choices so far - the strip club (dante's?) by voodoo doughnuts does a lot of really good fire dancing. The music venues are fantastic - the doug fir and the crystal ballroom come to mind as biggies.

The Velveteria is a beautiful museum display of velvet paintings - kitchsy but also some are good and it was very enjoyable!

You should do at least one park - I like the Grotto, which is this trippy catholic park run by nuns built into a cliffside, but there are many options for that.

As for food - if you have $$ for restaurants, your dollar will go far in PDX. Get the happy hour deal at saucebox if you can.

Powells books, as mentioned, is pretty much essential. I feel like it kind of embodies the soul of portland.

The Oregon Zoo is pretty fantastic. They've got a baby elephant!

Rimsky's coffee house. Probably the weirdest place in america. Definitely worth the time. MAKE SURE YOU CHECK OUT THE BATHROOM. I recommend going at night.
