If you can do 4k DPS to a single target, your guild should have downed Sarth3d on 10 man, because that's all you need spread out among 8 DPS to kill him before the 3rd drake.

I don't get it.
Guilds are starting to just zerg 10man 3-drake instead of killing it regularly.

I don't get it.
He was asking for 3.5-4k+ DPS to be a part of his U10 pug.
I was saying that if you can do that much damage honest and truely, you can down sarth3d on 10 man using the zerg strat.
But only 2 guilds have done that on my server, both were 25 man guilds, and both did it about a week prior to the patch.

I haven't been in a PUG that has been light enough on retards to kill Emalon yet.

Forty stop being ostentatious. You need 4k DPS spread out to each of your 8 dps. As in, your raid needs to do an average of 4k DPS per person.
You're catching on a minor semantically point from something you should have understood if you had any competence in order to be a smartass.

I've been in one that killed him in 10 man, and three that wiped on the 10 and 25 man.
It's not that hard. The hardest part in the 25 man pug was gettingpeople to attack the right target. Once I said "Look, stop with the bullshit, get all the DPS to assist off me instead of the main tank" we actually made headway and started killing him. This is because the off tank would be the regular assist, and he'd just tab target his way through, whereas I would stare at the health meters and see which one was full then cry out "ASSIST NOW!"
Worked a hell of a lot better than the offtank assist or call out the color of the mark on the mob.

In a testament to my gullibility and stupidity I ended up following a bad link and inadvertently downloaded a key logger and lost my WoW account over the week end. I'm upset, not as much about my gold or my gear being deleted but more by the prospect of my characters being used to advertise gold selling websites and what not.
As soon as it happened, I was actually booted while in the middle of playing, I sent in an email but its been several days and I've not received a response from Blizzard. I have a friend who told me about his younger brother going through a similar situation and it took him a month or more before he got his account restored.
Has anyone else been as unfortunate? Is it really going to take a month or more?
You should call Blizzard to sort it out. It's how I got back my account when I so- er, had it stolen. Takes maybe hour or so to sort it out, and a few days after for them to restore your shit.

It should not take that long at all. Call customer support. I called them over less and they obliged me.
it happened to me as well, it doesn't take a month. A Blizz rep. contacted me via electronic mail (after petitioning a GM in-game) and said there would be an investigation and it may take a few days for a full item restore. Mine was 3 days. They did a pretty good job, I even got some gold too but I lost some things that I can't ever get back, one of which was my 'Idol of the Raven Godess' an item at the end of the druid epic flite quest.

I guess the question is: is there any correlation between actual DPS and the DPS people advertise that they do?
Like the people who say they'll do 2k DPS in a heroic, and then do around 1,500, or the ones who advertise as 3k+ pulling 2,500. Maybe he is trying to account for the lie factor and is hoping to get a group of people doing 2,500-3,000 DPS. Maybe he thinks those numbers will ward off some 1,500-2,000 DPS folks who aren't bold enough to lie that much about their ability.
That said, recruiting unknown PUGs is nearly a 100% crapshoot. If you're in the position of recruiting them for a raid, you're pretty much hosed either way. At best you can armory them to make sure they understand the correct way to gear/spec or maybe check achievements, and those things are still only a vague correlation to player skill.
Anyone have any idea where Blizzard is going with this Argent Tournament thing? Right now it just seems like a big grindfest designed to provide people with extra mounts/pets/tabards/city rep towards their various achievements (And yes, I'm aware that's probably one of the major points to it, I just hope there's more to it).
Not to mention it doesn't make a whole lot of sense storywise for a variety of reasons.
And why does everything give Silver Covenant/Sunreaver rep when it's hosted by the Argent Crusade? Did Blizzard just decide to abandon their plans for those factions and shoehorn their rep gains here? Even if they do have plans for them, everyone will already be exalted with them before 3.2 ever sees the light of day.
It goes well with the fascinatingly helpless task of recruiting PUGs for progression content.
E: I macro DI to Beacon of Light, since it's the most expensive spell and generally I assume I'll be casting a fair amount of heals after using Beacon.

I think it's gonna lead into the next phase of the story about the assualt on the Lich King. I'm guessing the arena is actually gonna get built eventually, and we'll get more dailies with more crazy stuff.
Also, I got an awesome PUG together today and we actually kicked the shit outta Emalon in 10 man. Was sweet. If you've got a group of non-morons, it's dead easy.
It's worth noting jpg format is not ideal for showing off graphics.

I pointed that out too.
About the druid that can do 9k DPS in heroics.
I pointed out these very things that you are bringing up in the post you originally quoted.

Don't be mad at forty, just because he's a little slow.
I was on hold for a little over 15 minutes but as soon as I got someone on the line it took all of 5 minutes to get my account back to me. Though I did get a lecture from the lady about account security. Yeah I know I fucked up but man she made me feel like a damn child.
All my characters are there sans gear/money (even as low as my 21 rogue) and I got a petition in to restore my characters 'pending an investigation'.
The main reason I stopped going to the WoW forums is because of the keyloggers. They're getting smarter, sometimes there'll be an entire topic where the OP + first five posts are all hacked accounts to make it look more like a real post and not a bot.
The second reason I stopped was because the main WoW forums are a cesspool that make me angry at the human race every time I read them.
Another quick question, when they restore your characters do they roll back the whole account? Like if I leveled an alt while waiting to hear back from them would I lose the levels I gained when they restored my other characters?

If all the differences between the high res and low res versions are being lost in jpeg artifacts created at 'very high' quality, clearly the option is worthless and there is no reason to be turning it on.

I definitely can see the difference in some of my stuff, my Mage's robes from Naxx10 look much smoother than they used to. One piece that *doesn't* seem to look all that great is my Shaman's T7.5 gloves, the lines on them still look kinda blocky, but that might come from them being stretched over the male Tauren-sized mitts.
But I was thinking that the option, when working, probably affected most Northrend stuff anyhow. I haven't really done extensive testing.
