so my laptop's lcd screen gave out the other day, so as a hotfix until leave school for the summer i thought i'd purchase an external lcd monitor.
it looked quite lovely at the store, but here's whats going on. The monitor has a max resolution of 1440X900, and when i attempt to turn it to that the whole display becomes shifted off to the right, but at full resolution. Also, the edges of windows and any text have several little gray shadows behind it, making it look blurry(if that makes any sense).
It's an hp w1907. any thoughts would be great!
edit: apparently windows and my monitor believe they are set at different resolutions...
is there an optimize button? my external monitor seemed kind of funny until i managed to get teh display settings right. i have a button on it that resizes the screen based on the display. it works for my mac side, but the pc side is still a little weird
spaming the auto optimize button has significantly improved everything! now the display horizontally centered, but seems to be shifted down a little vertically(seems to be about as much as the windows taskbar). I can slightly fix it with the vertical adjustment on the monitor menu.
edit:
some more hammering of the optimize button and more rebooting seems to have done the trick. Looks like im all set. Thanks very much!
