This may seem like a stupid thing but its been bugging me for a while. Basically whenever I pee there's a load of foam left behind. I'm not talking about a little bit either there's usually quite a lot. When I use a urinal there's normally a pile of it coming out the urinal hole. I've asked my friends and this doesn't seem to happen to them or at least to nowhere near the same extent.
I'm guessing this is a dietary problem but I would like a confirmation if anyone else has seen this before.
Dr. Castle at the Mayo clinic says it can be a sign of protein in your urine, which can be a sign of kidney trouble. Alternately, you just wee faster than others.
Shit. I'm probably inclined to think it may be a combination of dehydration and peeing fast but it couldn't be the kidney failure thing at 21 could it?
I'd get this checked. My kidneys failed when I was 14, I'm 26 now and they are still getting worse, my pee is very foamy. As said, its because of protein and is very easily checked by a doctor.
Does the kidney problem have any symptoms except foamy pee? Is there any pain or anything like that?
There seems to be quite a bit of spare capacity in the kidney, mine are at 12% function and I still have no visible symptoms apart from the foamy pee. There are other ways to check but I've been very surpised how little effect it has otherwise, most of my friends don't even know and I'm soon about to stary dialysis.
So I would think it was worth getting checked, just in case.
