Headphones giving me static

So a couple days ago, I noticed that when I'm playing around with itouch (tilting it, etc), I'm getting static. I try another pair of earphones, and it is fine. So my headphones are the culprit

The thing is, these are a very nice set of earbuds - I got them as a gift, and they're pretty expensive, so I don't want to just throw them away. What can I do to diagnose / fix the problem?

It looks like the problem is that when I try to bend the cord around the plug (where it connects to computer/iphone). If I don't touch it, it works fine. However, if the position of the cable closest to the plug changes, I get static. I think it might be a wire almost breaking? How would I check? If so, how would I fix this?

EDIT: found that it was the earphones, not the itouch, thanks Nappucchino

First off, I think you should try another pair of headphones for awhile and see if this continues to happen. That way you'll be able to eliminate the headphone as the sole cause of the problem.
