Inspired by this article: http://tinyurl.com/dy379q (lots of good ones there), what are your all time favorite game retro game commercials? It is hard to argue with the Super Mario 3 one IMO.

    I love the earliest Nintendo commercials.

    Also, the commercial for MegaMan Legends. A lot of the Japanese Rockman and Nintendo commercials are awesome, too.

    One of the earliest video game commercials that I liked included the Japanese-broadcast ad for Super Mario RPG, which involved singing Piranha plants.

    Oh man, this and the Battle Tanx commercial with the flaming Snuggles bear. Commercials back in the day were awesome.

    EDIT: Actually having looked at the OP now, though, I can't help but think this is a little too poll-thready to be healthy, so I say we dedicate this thread to finding obscure-ass or extremily interesting commercials for gaming stuff.

    EDIT: Wow, looking around on Youtube, maybe it's the cultural and language barrier but King's Field 3 got the shittastic end of From's marketting stick from the commercials I'm seeing.

    I can't really remember what my favorite would be, but I can say the one that sticks out in my mind as the least favorite would be the American SMW2 commercial:

    Watching it again now I realize where they got the idea for the ad from, but it really did make me sick back in 1995.

    I'm at work, so I can't post videos, but the ones that always stick in my mind are all the early Crash commercials. Specially the one where he goes visit Nintendo.

    Oh, and there was a snowboarding game that had the commercial of the kid wanting to go home and pay it. He ends up pushing his grandma out of the car instead of stopping and dropping her off, while yelling "Tuck and Roll Grandma!". My friends and I found it hilarious.

    I love this commercial so much. It was at the height of the FFVII induced epic JRPG craze, and it starts off like every other knock off taking itself way too seriously. Too bad the game didn't actually have any of that spirit to it and instead took itself way too seriously.

    Awesome combat system though.

    Ugh! Yeah, that one really freaked me out as a kid. Now I realize that its straight out of Monty Python's Meaning of Life but it still manages to be devoid of any humor whatsoever!

    Hell yes, I was addicted to this cereal. I remember entering a contest they had where you could win a Super Pacman Arcade unit...I was so sure I'd win.:(

    There was a trailer for Ocarina of Time that played on the Blockbuster trailer tape. I can remember the music so vividly. The one on Youtube just isn't it, so I don't know if they had a different version, or I'm just going crazy and I made the song up in my head. Either way, it hyped me up for the game so bad even though I wasn't huge into Zelda.

    All I've got is this Sonic 2 commercial . I swear there was a "Groundhog day isn't Groundhog day anymore - it's Hedgehog Day!" commercial for Sonic 2 (or maybe a different Sonic game) that I remember, but I can't find that one online. There's that sort of neat Mario 3 commercial with a bunch of people chanting Mario as well.
