On the other, I wouldn't mind if they released some DLC that added different voice options. Surely hiring a few voice actors and adding a dropdown to the profile menu wouldn't be all that intensive.
There are a few other bugs/issues that I'd love to see addressed too. I have no idea why "add server to favourites" doesn't seem to actually add it to my favourites list. A server blacklist (so I never accidentally end up on a friendly fire enabled server again) would be fancy pants as well.
First they came for the Muslims, and we said NOT TODAY, MOTHERFUCKER!
Some of my favourite moments in this game come down to working with one other person, covering each others backs, timing a retreat/brief advance with reloads, ducking husk fire and laying down everything we have to drop that last scrake/flesh pound. Good times.
Who knew love could bloom on the battlefield, separated from the rest of the squad in West London, a 'zerker and marksman somehow survive the circle of incoming zeds, killing perfectly to help the other person be more effective. It was a romance I never thought I could feel, a flirtatious dance of blood.
And as we fell to a Fleshpound backed by an impossible wave of zeds, we both died with healing syringes in eachother, looking out for our partner to the very end.
I approve this post, haha.
My lowest perks are firebug and berzerker, (level 3 and level 2 respectively) I think I'll try leveling Berzerker now, tried playing as a Firebug during normal games but I don't really like feeling so useless against scrakes and fps.
I have demolitions on level 4 I think, and medic on level 5, but those will eventually level themselves.
Is there any easy way to grind out welding for support? It's the only thing preventing me from quickly leveling up.
I think what some people have done is play a solo game, clear a floor save for one or two guys, and then get them to wail on a welded door while you position something on your mouse to keep the welder welding while you go do something else for a while.

I did this with a bent paperclip and my desk holding it down for me. Granted, I didn't go the full 9 yards, just to finish up for the next level.

Firebug is no longer useless against Scrakes and FPs, actually.
A fully charged shot from the Husk gun does a shitload of damage, and a headshot with it (slightly difficult to do) stuns the Scrake on Normal 6-players at least. (After which he'll crisp and panic for another couple seconds without attacking anyone)
Also, Firebug leveling isn't based on afterburn damage, just fire damage, so direct kills with the MAC-10/Flamethrower/Husk Gun/Incindiary Grenades will level the perk just fine
That reminds me of a conversation my friends and I were having while playing Bedlam in Killing Floor. We were complaining about the lack of female voices, and someone was talking about wanting to have a Queen Elizabeth character and voice set, running around saying "WE are welding this door!"

Man how hard is it to get a game in a suicidal server without it being full of level 0's?
i've heard as soon as you install and boot up the game for the first time, the server browser defaults to that difficulty. blame tripwire.
No, since they're in hard and HoE too I'm going to go ahead and blame their stupidity and their egos for their dogged refusal to stay out of games they can't do anything but ruin for everyone else.

I need to get a game going multi sometime so I can get the new Medigun cheevo
But every time I play I just want to burn shit now
Just two more maps to go to have all of the official ones done on Hard. I really should put some time into finishing the book I'm reading and some of the games I've bought over the last few months (Batman and Trine 2 and Orcs Must Die etc etc), but I just can't help checking back in. "Maybe a group is in a middle wave on Icebreaker/Suburbia now!?" I ponder.
And yes, I get that it's a bit of a dick move to intentionally join maps late, avoiding half an hour or more of the early trash waves. In my defense: A) I'm joining as a level 6 support and 2) I don't beg for money. I use the starting 250 to buy a regular shotgun and a full load of ammo, and as long as the group shows cohesion and some skill, I generally survive to the next round with enough cash to drop the shotgun and buy the new combat shotgun. If someone has cash to spare (a generous medic or berserker, for example) I can often skip to an AA-12 and some armour earlier rather than later, and at that point I'm up to speed and wrecking monsters in the face. Late edit: it doesn't hurt that starting with the double barreled shotgun means I can help drop even the scariest foes by stepping up and unloading both at once.
Speaking of which, I've gotta say, between the rapid fire delivery and raw stopping power of the new combat shotgun, I no longer worry about Scrakes as much as I once did while solo (edit: on a 6 player map that is). I still treat them with caution, but it's a tactical step backwards to buy time as my weapons switch, rather than a swift retreat while someone else notices what's wrong. AA12 until it's good and pissed and then swap->unload->profit.
Flesh Pounds, however, still make me nervous.
And yeah, the level 0's/1's in Hard and above are still annoying, but now that the free weekend has passed they don't seem to be present in anywhere near the numbers they were before.
You know what I'd like? An option to restrict joining a game based on perk rank by wave. Say, you can't join a game on wave 4-6 as a level 0 or 1, can't join wave 6-8 unless 2 or higher, etc. Sure, I get that the higher waves also mean it's more likely that the other players have extra funds to give out, but at the same time they're also the point at which more dangerous specimens show up, where the lower damage output and/or survivability makes them more and more dead weight. Obviously this would only apply to newly joining people. If you make it to wave 7 as a perk 0 or 1 on Hard and the team hasn't voted you off or yelled at you until you cried, then I guess you're just that badass.
Forar on

Just a filter that stops people lower than level 4 joining a suicidal server would be sweet. Lets face it, it doesn't take long to get to level 4 in this game it's only 5 and 6 that take time.
Every time I join a suicidal server with 3 or 4 level 1's I just want to say "You realise every other player hates you right? I hope if you ever play this game seriously all your higher difficulty servers are filled with level 0 cockbites who'll fuck it up for you too".
On late arrivals I took the cake for that the other day. I joined a server with the last wave in progress on a hard Ice cave, I never even got in the game but when they killed the patriarch I got the achievement for the map. So much win.

I've had that happened. I think that's how I got my Hard West London cheevo.
Joined some PAers in progress, it was during the Patriarch wave.
Managed to knock off the last 2 hard maps, earned 'em both from beginning to end!
Now, all the maps on suicidal? ... yeah, not sure that'll ever get done. My experiences with Suicidal/HoE are generally a mix of low levels that have no business being there and people who want to glitch/exploit the maps far more often than a team interested in actually completing said map legitimately.

I hope there's continued interest in this game around here. I know I'm VERY late to the party, but I really love this game's combination of amazing gunplay and required teamwork.
The server is set on normal right now because a lot of us picked it up from the sale and are just learning the game. But if the interest is high enough and we get enough players popping in, I'll probably appoint a couple of admins so you guys can set the difficulty to whatever you want, since I know there are some veterans around here.
Been stuck playing "Beginner" for the past five games because whenever I play normal, my group and I get wiped. Probably not going to get out of it until I hit 2 or 3 Commando, or I find a group who isn't going to die before I can heal them as a Medic 2.
Turns out they patched out using piles of pipe bombs to kill the patriarch! Serves me right for not playing demo a lot.
I'll keep it in mind for next time, sorry guys.
pipes are good for initial damage, but after that you gotta chase him down.
Last time I played demo, before pipebombs where so expensive IIRC, you could just pile a bunch of them at someplace and lure the patriarch to them, easy kill.
Turns out the devs realized it and patched it out, in such a way that a group of pipebombs hurt as much as two pipebombs.

Totally.

Firebug is so good
Question though: are my leveled characters on my old computer or are they steam cloud-ed?
