Replacement Laptop Shell

Hey.
I have an HP DV9000. It now looks like this.
A little while ago the leftmost structural piece on the top half of the shell cracked straight through due to some trauma. I left it because I thought I was out of warranty at the time, and was pretty busy. (This wasn't entirely true, more in a second.) And now the other side has cracked under either the additional stress or through stubbornly using it with the other crack on it.
Anyways the top part of the shell is basically borked, the bottom hinge is completely free and the screen is basically being held on with wires. As I understand it, it is possible to get replacement parts, what is my best course of action here?
I haven't seen anything yet on ebay, but I'd imagine it would be the cheapest. Anywhere I can look for instructions on installing them? Kind of clueless of what to do here, I've never had a laptop incur any sort of physical damage, much less significant.
On a sidenote, I wouldn't mind cleaning out the keyboard, but the HP laptop keyboards really seem tough to get at, is there a guide on this?
The computer is past it's manufacturer's warranty, but apparently since it was a costco purchase it was under policy there for an additional year. That second year had just recently passed. before the other part of the shell went. I would have consulted but I was completely ignorant that the costco here had changed their policy and retroactively given me another year of warranty. Anything I can do in that regard? I kind of doubt complaining would get me the repair but I did kind of get screwed. (I was told at purchase that I only had the one year.)
Thanks for any consideration, the laptop works fine but with the other side cracking it can't even be transported without having it's neck supported like a newborn baby.
