Blackheads

I have tons of tiny little blackheads on my nose and forehead, not the big kind that are actually black but the tiny ones that are pretty hard to see but when I squeeze them I can get white stuff to come out. What is the best way to get rid of them? I have tried quite a few different methods of creams and all that BS but it hasn't worked so far.

    Painful, painful squeezing.
Biore strips are okay, but you can't match a squeeze.

Sometimes, for the rare big painful ones, I stick a needles head in, and then do the squeeze. A great method of squeezing is finding something like a retractable pen, and pushing it around the area so that all sides have equal pressure, instead of just two sides... if that makes any sense.

What I really recommend is a nice facial cleanser every night, and maybe every morning in the shower. One that ex foliates is great for helping the blackhead situation, and then just a regular one is nice for other times. These are definitely the healthier way to go, and it'll help your skin in the long run. Squeezing your face will kill some blood cells, and could make the skin look worse, so go for some soaps and cleansers, not creams so much, and make sure you use the proper technique. Wash your face with warm water, then rinse with cold water, or whatever the specific directions tell you to do.

Oh, and do not do any of this within a few hours after you shave, it will burn and could cause even more irritation.

Salicylic acid and a good exfoliating scrub is all you need. Won't change things overnight, but it'll clean out your pores and address what's actually causing the blackheads.

I don't really like exfoliating scrubs like that St. Ives stuff because they're really harsh. Also, supposedly they can exacerbate the problem by making small abrasions on your face.

Personally, I use Cetaphil and a wash cloth, which I gently wipe my face with in order to get rid of dead skin or whatever.

Also, you might want to look into getting an astringent and changing up your diet.

They actually make something called a comedone(technical name for a white or black head) extractor that is a metal thing with a small circle cut out for doing this. Much easier and cleaner than using a pen.

They generally look something like this 4bf4_1.JPG

You can sometime find them in the beauty section at walmart or target, but if not just go to a beauty supply store, something like Sally's or whatever. Maybe even walgreen's or CVS
