Apparently Square-enix just filed for a new trademark. Something called Dragon Quest Wars.

We could be on the verge of receiving a DQ version of FFT+A, which would be pretty dang nice in my mind (probably DS bound), or it could be like many other trademarks, nothing. But I would definitel ylove for the former to be the truth.

I'd be pretty surprised by that, since they already have Blood of Bahamut in the works.
They don't have any pending SRPGs (aside from Front Mission 6), so another SRPG on the DS wouldn't be crazy. If it were DQ related, there'd be tons of jobs/classes to use from throughout the series, which could make for another game as stupidly addictive as FFTA2.
Oh, goddammit, fuck you. Now I'm going to be disappointed when it isn't that. Thanks a lot.
