Ahh, roleplaying games. Over the years it has been subjected to some of the best and worst art ever seen.
From the origins of modern DnD:
to its modern, uniquely vibrant state
and the various offshoots
RPG illustrations have evolved tremendously from bare, pencil sketches to art with real value.
The cosmic horror of Call of Cthulhu:
World of Darkness's gothic angst:
The bizarre landscapes of Transhuman Space:
Shadowrun's Fantasy Cyberpunk:
And many more.
Anyhoo, I thought this could be a thread in which we discuss and display RPG art. So fire away.

I would do things science considers extremely unnatural to Christopher Shy.

I really do love the fact that wotc has all the art they use available for browsing.

Then they took the ugly stick on the 2.0 line.
Speaking of which, what pages is your artwork on specifically in Golden Age, DMAC?
I remember liking that piece.
I'm going to pretend that didn't sound like an insult.
I got permission to post my work online so here are a few of the pieces I did:
Master Spy (pg. 72)
I may have based him on Phil Ken Sebben from Harvey Birdman (Ha ha!). He might also have my picture in the dossier he's holding.
The Omnipotent Mystic (pg. 55)
My "not based on Dr. Fate in any way... okay let's call it an homage" character.
Allied Heroes (pg. 20)
Can you guess their pun-tastic names? (The big guy's from England.)
I also have pieces on pages 49, 58, and 64.
The other ones arent so..
But im guessing, "Soviette", "French Toast", and "The Mountie"
I didn't mean you. You stuff's the shit. And Leif Jones is doing some art, too.
It's just...I only like half of the stuff in the 2.0 line. I liked everything in the 1.0 line.
Closer, but no.
I take paticular pride in "Soviette" though i knew it was wrong.
Is the frech guy "Charles the Gaul"?
Canadian Shield is correct.
Planeswalker
Will of the Council - Starting with you, each player votes for death goblin.
It is ear to ear.
Your drawings and pun have caused this.
Other than me?
...
I'm a big fan of Todd Lockwood and Sam Wood's work on 3d D&D and Wayne Reynolds comes up with great designs.
I also really dig Steve Prescott's work on the World of Darkness, Shadowrun, and D&D/Eberron books.
He's not doing much RPG work these days, but I'm a fan of Tony Diterlizzi. If you liked his work on the Planescape sourcebooks, you should really pick up his Arthur Spiderwick's Field Guide to the Fantastical World Around You.
Seconding Tony Diterlizzi recommendation....
He pretty much made Changeling for me, really made the whole thing interesting.
