Tryin' to play some Elite Force 2

So I just installed Elite Force 2 on my new machine, and whenever I try to start it up, I get this string in the console;

GLW_StartOpenGL() - could not load OpenGL subsystem

I tried updating my graphics cards and checking the /base directory for a config file to delete (there wasn't one), to no avail. Strangely, the first time I started it up, everything worked fine until I set to resolution to highest and restarted the game - after I did that, this opengl thing started, and even after a reinstall it's still doing that.

What gives? Anyone got a quick solution? I wanna phaser stuff.

    Per that launch log, you should have a Jacob.cfg in the base directory. The default and game cfg should be in the base\global\ directory. Worst case, do a find on the elite force folder for *.cfg, and tell windows to include all subfolders in the search.

    The problem looks like whatever monitor/vid card combo you have does not approve of a 1600x1200 resolution.
    If you've got a widescreen monitor, most below 24 inchs cap at 1680 x 1050. Being as elite force 2 isn't exactly a recent game, it probably doesn't have built in menu support for widescreen resolutions, but you may be able to manually configurate that within the cfg files to 1680x1050 (or whatever the highest resolution your desktop supports.

    Elite Force II is a Q3 engine game, and should support manual widescreen settings the same way.
