You Can't Take the Sky From Me (Firefly thread, bitches)
So I recently purchased Serenity on DVD as I haven't watched it since it was released at the cinema. I saw Serenity before I watched Firefly. After I watched Firefly, I decided that Firefly was better than Serenity.
But man, the other night I re-watched Serenity and it is the best.
I think it's a serious contender for my favourite sci-fi film, along with The Empire Strikes Back. I loved every minute of it.
I also have re-ignited my crush for Summer Glau. Those legs.
NSFW: Mal's hot ass.
Also look how awesome this is:
Firefly's a cool show. Just like all the other Joss Whedon shows I've seen (haven't seen Dollhouse). Serenity is good too. I own both.
That's pretty much it, a cool show. I can recommend it to people, but I'm really not quite sure how people obsess over it like they do.
"Gorram" pisses me off though and I will kill every person I hear say it. Two times. So does "frak" from BSG. Either put your show on HBO, find your way around the curse words through creative writing, or just bleep them out (Southland-style!).
That figure is not recognizable as Mal. That figure is stupid and lame. Enjoyed the show and movie, have an unhealthy crush on Jewel Staite, but there's not really much to say about the show at this point that ain't already been said before.

They shouldn't have made that Dollhouse shit and just put money into more Firefly.
Eh. I love Firefly and Serenity both, but I'm okay with the fact that they're over. Serenity might not have been the ideal way to close up the series, but we got all the loose ends tied up, and anything more would just be disjointed. Something good with a satisfying arc that actually ends isn't a tragedy, it's a story.
Besides, after all the shit that went down in the film, too many of the things that made the show great would be gone. Let it rest.
The dude that Mal shoots in the opening of Serenity is Always Sunny's Dennis Reynolds.
he was also the doctor that Chev steals (something...God I can't even remember) from in the hospital in the first Crank, and (Crank: HV spoilers) eventually
accidentally shoots while he is at the therapist's.

Last night my girlfriend started talking about Firefly right as we were both about to go to sleep and I had to stop her because if I get going on that shit it just pisses me off.
Not so much just about FireFly but the 3-4 year span where Fox decided to cancel good show after good show after good show that really, really pisses me off.
I'm talking not only FireFly but John Doe, Greg the Bunny, Family Guy, Futurama, and other fantastic shows that I don't want to get into because I have to leave for class.

fuck Family Guy
it should have remained canceled
the only bit of Family Guy I enjoyed was when they listed the 364 shows that Fox cancelled that brought them back to the air.
honestly, I'm rather disgusted with all the filthy neckbeards that got their skidmarked briefs up their ass cracks over some shows they slavishly foamed at the mouth over just because they got canceled
bunch of useless mouthbreathers focusing all their impotent rage into writing letters and starting online petitions to get their beloved shows back instead of actually doing something fucking useful with their time

its not coming back
stop obssessing about it
god you people are worse than Angel fans
They are both ridiculously pretty.
but I still think Nathan Fillion's role as Captain Hammer overshadows his work as Mal Reynolds.
in fact I loved everything about Dr. Horrible and can only think about it now.

Well the second half of the season anyway
What's so bad about the first few eps and what's so drastic that one episode changes everything?
Pretty much this
minus the crush
While nerds are drooling over the girl with the haggard face, smart people line up behind Jewel Staite.
I had a crush on her as a kid and didn't even know till after Firefly that she was Catalina from Space Cases!
I guess if you ultimately recognize Mal as a brown-coated individual, you could figure that out. But that's really it.
(also unhealthy crush on Jewel Staite since I was like 12 because of Space Cases)

She was childhood me's first-ever celebrity crush, because of Flash Forward
Oh god yes.
now we just have to wait for weaver to come in and start posting youtubes
Same thing with the new Battlestar. I mean it was alright I guess... I just didn't see what the big deal was.
I was a big fan of the first 5 or so seasons of SG1 however. But once Richard Dean Anderson became a supporting cast member it kinda tapered off.
Atlantis was pretty tits.

I have
in all my years of posting on the internet
and reading youtube comments
and occasionally browsing /b/
never heard something so wrong.
the only sci fi show worse than Farscape is Lexx.
I would rather jam flaming iron pokers into my balls than watch Lexx.
Need some stuff designed or printed? I can help with that.

she liked everything (especially mal) except river
she kept calling her "rivers" at first, and eventually this gave birth to the idea of river's more crazy, more violent sister RIVERRS
so for a while there emily'd just burst into a room, brandishing a knife, or start biting my face and yelling RIVERRS
