hey guys i was playing tf2 for a while and when i closed the game all my icons were gone along with the taskbar! help please and no i cannot rite-click the desktop.

Did they come back after a reboot? Sounds like Explorer crashed.

If you open up your task manager, you should see a process called 'explorer.exe'. This is Vista's window manager, which manages, among other things, your taskbar and desktop. Thats what I was referring to, not Internet Explorer.

Anyways, if everything works on restart, you should be fine. If it doesn't, then something has gone very wrong with your Windows install.

No, not Internet Explorer. Explorer.exe. That is the process that loads all the visual stuff like the task bars, clock, etc.

You can either reboot the computer or do Control Alt Delete, Start Task Manager, New Task, and then type in Explorer.exe.
