I'd Like to Build a Arcade Stick (But have no idea how)
I want to build a Arcade stick mostly for fighting games. Anyone know any specifically good tutorials for this kind of thing. I'm looking to do it, using a 360 controller, still not sure if I would do wireless or wired.
as a sidenote, does anyone know if wireless 360 controllers are compatible with PC if used with the usb charge cable?
I originally wrote joystick but meant fighting arcade pad/stick whatever the fuck.

The Play and charge cable doesn't transfer any data (at least, not to a PC), just power. You could use the wireless gaming receiver if you wanted to use a wireless controller with a PC.
edit: also, you can probably use some concepts from this article to help you on your way. I'm sure there's more on that site that would help as well, ben heck is a madman.
There is a tutorial here and this website in general is fantastic for information on things like this. Their forums are super helpful and there are people there who will even do the hack for you (for a price obviously) if you don't want to do it. That other tutorial uses an old stick and buttons but you can buy new ones from Happ or one of the the other suppliers. You will find the parts you want for pretty damned cheap and there are resellers on the boards at the other website who will sell you the parts you need cheaper than Happ will.
Theres a feature in the latest issue of Hyper magazine on 'How to make your own X360 arcade stick'. Im assuming it will work on PC as the 360 controller is compatible. Its a 3 page spread. I think the mag is only available in Australia and New Zealand though. I collect the magazine, so i 'can' scan it for you, when i pick it up.

They are not. I would advise that you use a Mad Catz wired pad, as the shitty quality of the controller ironically makes it easier to work with.

I would dig that if you could do it.
