Peter's tangled love life seems just so rehashed in UCSM. First I was bothered by the abrupt switch to Gwen. Now I'm upset about another switch back to MJ, and I don't even know why.
The girl ping pong wouldn't be so bad if I didn't think it was going to be an ongoing issue. For variety they might throw in a totally new girl at some point, oooh! :P
but these days I just accept my fervent desire for Maria Hill and Noh Varr to get it on

I'm actually surprised there aren't more commie-hating shippers who want to get John Walker and Victoria Hand together. I guess none of you love America like I do.
The only superheroine John Walker would sleep with is Miss America. Or maybe American Dream, if he was ever in the MC2 reality.
Is she dead? Because I don't think that her being an old WW2 vet would necessarily stop him. Assuming the Whizzer isn't around. John Walker's no homewrecker.
Crimson how do you feel about a Walker/Danvers relationship?
To be honest, I never thought about it. It makes a Hell of a lot more sense than the relationship Reed was pushing between her and Spidey. She may be from Boston, but she's certainly no tax and spendocrat. That's for sure. The problem is that her boyfriends don't tend to last very long, so unless I was writing it Walker would be dead or a brain in a jar in three issues.
Though on that subject, I do think there's potential for sexual tension leading to something between her and Noh-Varr. It's trite to have two people who hate (or at least seriously dislike) each other end up having sex, but I figure it's sitting there for someone to write anyway. Between their two power sets, they could get really freaky, too. I seriously believe though that there are a lot of shippers pining for something between Carol and Jessica Drew (though just until the next DC-Marvel crossover, because there are a lot of images of her with Wonder Woman or Power Girl on DA [Yes, I surfed the Ms Marvel group. There are some awesome pieces by actual comics artists in there, e.g. David Yarvin and Terry Dodson's sketch for the Hero Initiative New Avengers 100]).

Kali Vries. An old love interest when they were both int he Army, she showed up in Walker's mini series after Maximum Security. I'd throw Julia Carpenter in there too, while they never had a real relationship there was some hints of stuff during their West Coast Avenger days (and the first time they met Walker tried to kill her, that's one to tell the grandkids).
But we know the real love interest for Walker is Lady Liberty.
I'm glad Gillen's writing that. As much as Batroc's a joke, he's also a really complex character, when he's being written well. And from those pages, it seems like Gillen has a good handle on him.
God I hope Batroc ends up on the Thunderbolts B-squad. It'd be too wonderful.
That said, dude needs to ditch the purple windbreaker. It somehow looks goofier than his old spandex. Personally, I think they should stick him back in this one, from Deadpool:
The buckles and stuff make it a little busy, but I think it works.
That Deadpool Batroc costume is great. He needs a new design almost as badly as Taskmaster does.
And mentioning American Dream yesterday made me remember Wild Thing and Sabreclaw. They need to come to the 616 and kill off Daken and X-23. And bring J2 with them.
