Games You Can play at work: Help me be unproductive!

TurnipTurnip Registered User regular
edited May 2009 in Games and Technology
Hope I am doing this right. What I am looking for are games that you can play at work that don't look like games. Obviously text based games work well, games that can be played without installing anything (or minimal), etc. Things that are not flashy and distracting are great too... Anyone know of a game or two worth playing like this?

Multiplayer is great too, I know a bunch of people stuck at work looking to kill time... Oh, and before anyone tells me to "get back to work", my job has a lot of downtime... There really is nothing for me to do ;-)

Emacs has some games built into it, if there's a reason for you to use that program.

    And more text adventures.

I once made a flash card Visual Basic script in Excel to practice Chinese. If you have any studying to do you could do that.

There's always Kingdom of Loathing for an epic stick figure based in browser RPG.

How long before there's a flash "console" that launches games the way Youtube launches videos?

Tell me how it's already happening.

You don't really want to join now, wait for a ladder reset and a balance patch.

Estiah is a pretty awesome browser adventure/RPG game thing. Like Kingdom of Loathing, it's great for 30-60 mins a day.

    Also, it's free.

Second that. Though I don't play often I have something like five characters there. :P

I'm tinkering with my Scout some lately.

I was playing Nethack for a bit. I found a decent guide and tried to learn to play it a bit better, which helped some. Haven't played it for a bit though so now I forget everything I've learned so far :)

Also, I have Progress Quest running in the background on my system --> Frotwhig, level 63 Land Squid Tickle-Mimic

Spelunky is not multiplayer but awesome. Can run from a flash drive, and no install required.
