I can't get my new little Eee PC running XP working with my home wireless router. I've got it set up with WEP encryption, so I can connect to it with my DS, and I've entered the long ass code on the Eee, but no dice. It shows as excellent signal strength, with Status Validating Identity. When I first try to connect, I get the following in a little pop up:
Windows was unable to find a certificate to log you on to the network <<MyNetworkName>>
Any fixes I can try? Is this indicating something obvious I don't know about?
While googling I came across this discussion, where someone had the same problem and this was the solution:
I disabled the windows wireless zero configuration, and configured the
encryption to WPA2-PSK (AES), with now a perfectly working setup and no
more warning bubbles.
Found an answer: "uncheck the box to use 802.1x authentication on the "Authentication" tab
of the Properties dialog for your wireless network." Worked perfectly. Should have googled first, as always.

Don't know if that helps, but here's to hoping.
