Is there any program that does this?

My internet friend and I like to watch videos together with MST3K style commentary over AIM. Is there any program where we can start both of our videos playing at the same time through the net via one of us clicking instead of having to go "3...2...1...GO" over AIM? We have the exact same video files if that's important.

Erm, the answer is yes? It may not be exactly what you are looking for, but it's a start.

Wow, that was fast. Thanks. I'll see if I can get it to work.

Apparently Zync is designed for files on the web, like youtube, not files on the computer. Thanks anyway, though.

SeeToo is another option? Although I'm not sure it exactly fits what you need either. The problem is that even identical files on different computers may not be synchronized due to hardware.

If you don't upload the movie to the web, how exactly are you two watching these movies through AIM?

Oh god. When I was younger, me and my friends wanted to burn the Harry Potter books.

    Then I moved to Georgia.

My husband and I used to do this when we were long distance. We'd be on vent, have a video ready to start on our computers and do the 1 2 3 start thing. We never really figured out a better system.

If you've got 360's and netflicks I know you can download a video and have a viewing party type deal, but if you dont have those then yeah, I dunno. me and my friend would just do the 1 2 3 deal and use vent or skype.

We both have the same video file on our computer. We load it up in VLC and pause it at 0:00:00. Over AIM, one of us goes "3...2...1...0" and we both click play.

I'll check out that SeeToo program.
