    i'm not really sure what you're looking for, but is it a way to remotely connect speakers to your computer wirelessly? If so, apple's airport express can do that for itunes, not sure if it works for all audio... i guess you could just connect it with a jack as one of the aux's on your livingroom stereo..

    It depends on the speaker, unfortunately. Unpowered speakers will generally require a receiver.

    The good news is that all receivers will sound the same (there's some challenge where some guy will pay you money if you can hear the difference between two receivers-- no one has won so far), so you can get a cheapie from amazon.
