That movie about robots who do not transform?

So I guess Terminator Salvation came out. It's got Christian Bale and Some Other People (primarily Michael Ironsides) fighting the Evil Robots. Here is a picture of that happening:
I saw it last night in IMAX, it was okay. I never saw the third installment and I don't feel like I was missing anything by not having done so. One of my complaints would be that the trailers included too much and some scenes that would have been really cool to see for the first time, well, I'd already seen.
Mostly I just wanted to say I was so right when I guessed the actress playing Blair was half asian. So right.
There was a review in the paper. I stopped reading it because he was intent on spoiling everything. He seemed to hate it basically because it was an action movie and though he hadn't seen the first one he liked the second one better because it was a thoughtful sci-thriller about nuclear holocaust. I didn't finish it, but I suspect it was a joke.
It is this point in the summer where I turn my brain off and ignore any complaints about summer action flicks. I turn out to be much happier in the end.
although Gamer looks like a stupid fucking movie. Yeah TLB fuck you
The movie was a really good mindless action flick. I was hoping for a bit more (and the ending was incredibly lame for so many reasons) but I don't feel like I wasted my money or time. At the very least it's worth seeing in the theaters for the visual experience.
I could see this being a good rental flick. There's not an awesome soundtrack or anything, so you get no benefit out of hearing it in the theaters, and, surprisingly, it's big on huge special effects (although there are a ton of special effects in the movie) so it's not like you're missing a lot by seeing it on a smaller screen.
But it's a pretty fun movie. If you're a big fan of the series, you'll love it because it's dripping with fan service. And not the bad kind like T3.
as some one who will probably never see this and never care anyway. what is the current ending?
John Connor needs a heart transplant, so the hero of the movie gives up his.
Well, atleast there's a lot of explosions right?
A fuck ton of explosions. I thought the action in this movie was definitely the highlight. Some really great action, especially near the end.
The final battle between Arnold and John Connor mirrors the climax of T2. Exploding shotgun shells, molten lava, liquid nitrogen, terminator coming back to live to save the day, etc. Except, somehow, it felt fresh and exciting.
I have been in love with this series ever since I saw T1/T2 back to back when I was 7. T3 was an ok rental. Fun to watch, and the ending wasn't too terrible. Beyond that it suffered from being merely adequate and when that is compared to T2, it seems a lot worse than it actually is.

T2 > TS > T1 >>> T3
Did you just rate this movie higher than T1? Your post makes me feel dirty.

he took me with him when he saw the second one
it was my first R movie and remains one of my favorite movies ever
hope this doesn't disappoint
what the hell people, what the hell
Anton Yelchin is waaaaay better as Kyle Reese than he was as Chekov. He looks and acts so much like a young Michael Beihn it's uncanny.
Man, that man is such a badass.
Clearly those people are interested in fun.
Do you not like fun, Tossrock?
Holy fuck, that was Yelchin? I saw him in the titles and then promptly forgot.
Yeah, he carried Reese really well, pretty much exactly what I would expect of a younger version of the original character.
totally fun
And he slips out of it really noticeably during at least once scene
edit: yeah WaM

those are masterpieces, but I liked it better than Terminator 3

The original remains the one movie I wish I could wipe from my mind.
Not because it was bad but because the begining with Reece and Arnie is just awesome.
Satans..... hints.....
Tomorrow night I may just go see Star Trek again
he made me feel bad for not being as deliciously sexy as he is

The Stranger said this was even worse than Terminator 3 and that Bale is wooden as hell
The original ending was far, far stupider.
Definitely a change for the better. Although both were dumb, imo.

I hope the T-1000 is in the sequel.

Super-weary, only seeing it because I can't convince the guys I'm going with to see Star Trek.
