Fixing a busted X52 Joystick

RobmanRobman Registered User regular
Hello Moe's Forum Dwellers,

I have recently purchased a cheap open-box x52 joystick/throttle combo for $50 on ebay. Apparently I got what I paid for since the x-axis fails to register movement and will randomly go from centered to extreme left, regardless of the angle of the stick or its orientation (upside down etc).

Has anyone cracked one of these beasties open before to repair the guts, or am I better off fighting lolebay and the seller?

Many regards.

If the item was listed as "this works" and not "AS IS NO GUARANTEES" then fight for a refund.

Yes, it was listed "Fully tested, guarunteed against DOA" but the company went from being super-fast (it was at my doorstep less then 24 hours after I won the item and paid for it) to oddly dragging their feet. I just hope it's because they're scrambling about for a replacement unit.
