My grandparents are returning to Nepal in a very short time indeed (1.5 weeks), and though I don't have a lot of money, I do at least have 100 USD with which to buy them a parting gift. I thought a camera would be perfect.
So, what would you guys recommend in the way of a digital camera for under 100 bucks?
You won't find a decent new camera for that price. Find a Canon Powershot A-series camera in the local classifieds. Older cameras are just fine as it's unlikely you'll need the extra resolution the newer cameras in this series add (which is really all they offer). Research the asking price a bit - people tend to want insane amounts for their old P+S cameras around here. Be sure to include some SD cards along with the camera if your grandparents don't already have some.
Oh, wow, those are cheap down South. Yeah, the A470 should work just fine for a camera for grandparents, and at 7.1MP they can go pretty large with their prints if they want.
