while a more powerful system can result in more advanced games, there's still the issue of price of entry
and the PS3's stigma of being too expensive to be worth it, deserved or not, remains and will remain for the foreseeable future
the big problem is that the only way to drop that stigma would be to drop the price, which I'm honestly not sure is a possibility for sony right now
while cheaper versions of their systems coming from microsoft and sony have made this point no longer valid in some ways, the wii's probably gotten a lot of its momentum on its status as the cheap one
I don't really follow it but honestly I wouldn't be surprised to see a push toward games that can run on lower-end systems leak into the PC market if it hasn't already

Your friends must suck!
Wait what was that addressed to me.

No I said I wish I didn't have to pay money for an XBL subscription to play with them.
I'd prefer it if I could play with them for free over PSN.

god, nay, man with two consoles among men
For I, myself, have an Xbox circle, and a waggly remote!
Take that god-king!
It's like a pantheon of nerditry under my television.
@gamefacts - Totally and utterly true gaming facts on the regular!
and a nintendo.
Every game system you have that I don't also have sucks
That's what I came in to say. Maybe his climbing ability is thanks to electrostaticons* on his hands, and he can't climb without them because of weak finger joints which cannot support his own weight.
*May not be a real thing.
I'll take PS3 over 360 any day, but even I have to admit that XBL wins over PSN in the online department.
Not the actual performance (you're still basically paying MS for the "privilege" of user-hosted games), but the actual integration of online into the system. In-game messaging is easier sent and received on 360, it's much easier to check your Achievement list against a friend's, the way you can have a little bio about yourself and a much larger selection of Gamerpics (this might seem like a small complaint but the selection on PS3 sucks and we haven't gotten anymore than what comes with the system).
I also really like how your friends can see what you're doing in the game, rather than just the game they're playing. Maybe you're in the middle of a Rock Band 2 endless setlist and don't want to join my game of Buzz Quiz TV. How would I know? Also, online invisibility is a nice option. The fact that Microsoft was practically giving out free headsets with boxes of cereal helps things in the online arena as well, compared to the barren, voice chat-less world of PS3 online games.
Whether that's all worth $50 a year, that's all on an individual basis. But PSN has the actual online play down, and maybe that's enough for some people, they just have a long way to go with making it feel more integrated and user-friendly.
you should know better than anyone. what a silly question
I actually just got We Love Katamari for the PS2 and have been playing that some.
Since Prototype is supposed to come out for the PC, I might check that out. I don't really understand the business of console exclusive stuff, especially for PS3/360. Are the companies paid that much by the console manufacturer?
Don't remind me.
I had better interaction with the proteins in Folding@Home than the amoebas in Home.
This is unprecedented!
