I haven't made a thread here in awhile, but I need a favor:

You guys better all be watching this at 9PM on ABC tonight.

Since King of the Hill has been canceled, we have to all get behind The Goode Family so it has a chance to mature into a show as good as KotH was for most of its run.

It's pretty much the inverse of King of the Hill. Instead of conservatives in the SouthWest, it's liberals in the North East.

Discuss! It starts in 15 minutes in the Eastern Timezone!

    Those commercials plus the one review I read of it that reinforced every opinion I had of it from the commercials have done a real fine job of making me never want to watch it ever.

    I think this'll be passable in the beginning. Then good eventually.

    Or it might just be terrible, depends on how 'zany' everything is.

    Do you remember how terrible the first season of KotH was?

    It was pretty bad. IMO, worse than these early episodes of this show look. But by the second season, it was on its feet. I just want this to be renewed for at least a second season, and then hopefully it'll be able to stand on its own as well.

    This was a good show, guys.

    It was actually pretty funny at times, although the setup and some of the humor could be pretty awkward at times.

    It was really good, and I think if it makes it to season 2, it'll be pretty consistently great.

    It's much more of a slapstick, whacky affair than KOTH was, though. And watching it kind of gives you a feeling that part of it is in jest of King of the Hill; gentle self parody of something they had been doing for so long.

    I am about to watch this and I really hope it is okay because Mike Judge has done quite a few projects that I fell in love with. I am willing to give it a season to really find its groove because of King of the Hill being one of the greatest things ever

    This is a good show, but it is definately suffering from the "tell don't show" symptom that pilot episodes usually have. But yeah it is basically bizaroo King of the Hill except Bobby is still retarded.

    Hadji has good enough taste in things that I might check this out

    also oh my god Linda Cardellini of Freaks and Geeks fame is a character on this, so that might justify investing some time

    on the other hand I recently decided that TV is rot and that I'm not going to get into any new shows, so meh

    I needs about a season to mature.

    I insist that if it hits season 2, it will be golden. Even then, it got significantly better in the second half of the episode.
