Trauma [Center] Team for Wii: out now, scrubs optional.
The gimmick for the next Ace Attorney game needs to be surgery. Occasionally while talking to a witness they'll pass out or start coughing up blood or something, and you'll have to operate on them to save their life so they can continue their testimony.
Finished the game last night. I hope a sequel's in the works using the same crew.
And to those worrying about crazy super-viruses, no need to worry at all. It's primarily a plot device, and nowhere near as crazy as in previous games - this game does a better attempt at trying to make things at least somewhat plausible.
Up to 15 hours now. Just finished everyone's initial operations and have started on the final storyline. I daresay this is probably the best game I've played of 2010 - it has original gameplay, looks great despite being on the Wii, has awesome controls, is plenty long with good replay potential (I'm already looking forward to replaying the game on the uber-hard unlock difficulty), and is just all around a lot of fun. And if that wasn't enough, it's only $40.
Seriously, if you own a Wii, you need to buy this game ASAP. Heck, this is a game worth getting a Wii for.
How is the difficulty compared to the other two Wii titles?
The action segments are a lot more manageable than the other two, so it has an actually good difficulty curve rather than being insanely hard. Most levels don't have time limits and little icons show up to remind you which tool you need for different actions. However, if you want a challenge, there's plenty of post-game stuff to do like an unlockable difficulty level, XS rankings to go after, and achievements.
Does it have co-op?
Yes. Work a bit differently than the last game in that you take turns rather than doing everything simultaneous. The graphic adventure segments are only 1 player, but they're a lot of fun to do as unofficial multiplayer sections - that's how I played a lot of them with myself running the game and my wife offering suggestions.

I own New Blood but I've never played it because I heard tales that its best enjoyed co-op and also that the difficulty was geared with 2 people in mind. I may just skip it for now and play this.

Only some of the characters have the "take turns" co-op bit. In others, you just split the tool set but can work simultaneously.

I finished it without any help at all. It's difficult, but doable.

Unless, of course, Atlus is following in the grand tradition of European Trauma Centre releases and hasn't even announced a sodding release date yet. We had to wait 9 months for Second Opinion - which was a Wii launch title! It's not like the game sells badly here either - it's the ridiculous "translate and dub into 5 languages before we can release in the UK" requirement that overwhelms the smaller publishers.
Still, at least we'll probably get to see it at some point, unlike Excite Bots. And the US will never know the joy of Disaster: Day of Crisis or Another Code R. And the western world will forever be denied Fatal Frame 4. Note that all of these are Nintendo-published titles - I really feel they're really selling themselves short given the dearth of titles they've published recently.

Well, Atlus doesn't have a UK branch, so it's not really their fault. It's like a free-for-all as to who publishes their titles over there.

Sorry - yes, should point out that almost all of the major ATLUS releases and some others (like No More Heroes) are picked up and published by Rising Star, who are tiny. Except, oddly, the Trauma Centre games - those have all been published by Nintendo to date. And they insist on taking an age to localise.
Any resentment is really at ATLUS going to all this effort and production values on translation, but not having the resources to quickly bung a PAL version of the US release over to the UK - and I realise that this is totally unfair.
Are Wiis region specific? You sound like you understand english well enough (assuming a non-english europian country) so you could just order a US version off of Amazon.

London. Lon-don. Yeah, they're region-locked to enforce regional pricing - you can use homebrew to bypass the region locks but I honestly can't be bothered with the risk and the time involved, let alone the hassle when you want to update firmware.
My complaint is that the UK gets exactly the same version as the US - they don't retranslate into an English dialect or redo any of the voicework - and yet frequently games are delayed because the publisher wants to sell a single disk with all European languages on it to save money. Never mind that the UK is the third biggest games market in the world, or that European countries frequently just mail order from our websites because it's cheaper and they only want the English version anyway...
I'll just be waiting, patiently, for this to actually see the light of day.

Could use a hand on Diagnostics Case 4(?), the child.
I'm at the second phase, having diagnosed the two diseases, looking for the third.
No more charts to look at, and the conversation is really brief.

Fixed that for you.

Would you want your endoscopy performed by someone who isn't a ninja?
However, I have one problem: I'm a chronic hypochondriac. It's bad enough that I'll start to feel like I have all the symptoms.
Oh, I can handle the surgery all right, but diagnostics will probably break me. And I doubt my cat would be able to play that section for me.
Well, she tries. Sometimes she swats at the TV when I'm fighting enemies...And when the Slap-Chop guy is on TV.
But, I digress. I really want to try forensics. Ace Attorney games feel too easy for me now... ;_;
It's also very time consuming. A Forensics level can take a good hour at least.
Just set your mind to Phoenix Wright mode. No issues after that!
This game was almost lucky to have gotten a T. They didn't slouch on the language, either.
The Diagonstician levels remind me of Phoenix Wright.

I mean, yeah, they've done a lot to improve it with this one, but I think they've all been really good (ridiculous germ aliens aside).

The XS missions, on the other hand...

Something I'm not seeing?
Did you do a visual exam?
Yep.
I could've sworn one of the statements you can push on to advance on, but I might be misremembering the part you're on.
Amazon's DOTD for $29.99
I LOVED the original DS version but the last few missions made me almost throw the DS against the wall. Screw those spiny GUILT things in their faces.
Will this one make me kill my dog and slash my wrists in an act of rebellion against Atlus?
I KISS YOU!
