DVD Decoder for Windows Media Player?

I'm not sure whether this belongs here or in the H/A forum, but I figure it's tech-related so I'll throw it here first.

I just upgraded my hard drives and did a fresh install of XP to have everything squeaky clean. I've reinstalled lots of the important stuff, but I'm missing the decoder to play DVDs on my computer. So, here's where you come in. I want:

1. A DVD Decoder
2. Uses Windows Media Player (I'd rather not learn a whole other configuration unless I must)
3. Cheap as free

Is there something obvious I'm missing? I find it kind of ridiculous that Microsoft doesn't have this functionality already built in, and I'm thinking that perhaps I've just missed something. Do you guys have any tips/ideas/suggestions?
