So recently I have had this incredible urge to play something that involves prospecting and finding ore, smelting it, and then black smithing it, maybe with some combat involved.
Before you mention it, I have tried Wurm Online and Runescape, the first being too time consuming and the second seeming too boring.
Besides those two games, have you guys found/played any game that involves mining, I really need to scratch that itch!
I've heard of something called.. Infiminer, I think. All I know is that it supposedly has to do with mining. I don't know if it's got the other aspects you like.

There's always WoW since Dwarf Fortress doesn't seem to be what you're looking for it's more personal and if you pick a pvp server has plenty of combat.
Unless you're looking for a really hardcore mining simulator with special canary status indicator then i've no idea.
Miner Dig Deep for the XBox 360. 200 MS points (USD$2.50). Dig, get ore & precious metals and then sell them to get better mining equipment. Repeat. Lots of fun & very addicting.
oh wow, I don't have any advice, but I just remembered some game I used to play in 7th or 8th grade (soooo maybe 1992 or 1993 or something)
Pretty much all you did was mine.
I can't remember what it was called, it was either that or number munchers or oregon trail in the 'computer lab' at school. I played that game a ton, because I really don't know too many multiples of 23 off the top of my head and most of my friends had died of typhoid many times over.
damn it, what was that game called?!
edit: ah hell, this is going to drive me crazy. You could find all manner of gems or ores. It was supposed to be educational I think, but I don't remember learning anything. You had a limited time underground before you had to come up and your score was determined by the value of gems you hauled up.
EVE is basically a mining MMO in spaceships.
And World of Warcraft has mining. You can even mine in other DIMENSIONS.
(this is a really weird request topic)
Oh, Motherlode is another good one. I think it's on Miniclip.
About to suggest that as well, though I had forgotten the name.

There's been a few updates since I was addicted to EVE, but I was an explorer/miner. I'd drop scan probes to locate hidden asteroid belts and then fly in with a miner and a few corp mates and make some bank. It was pretty cool, especially when pirates would scan up the hidden location and then we'd have to fight to keep the area. Neat stuff. I have no idea what that part of the game is like now though.

Similar to this is www.minecraft.net though the multiplayer isn't up yet, it's a very early version and mostly for dicking around in, it's updating fast though.

I want a game where I collect rocks and bits of glass to make necklaces out of and then sell them on the street next to jugglers and smelly guitar players singing Neil Diamond covers.
Dungeon Keeper let you possess imps and do mining. There's combat as well, but there's no blacksmithery as such, but there are traps and doors you can make if that'll do?

I think you can actually do all that in LOTRO. Seriously.

This. Digging tunnels in first person perspective was one of my favorite parts of that game. I wish Molyneux would revisit this type of gameplay.

All creature will die and all the things will be broken. That's the law of samurai.
You can't jump in and immediatly mine and blacksmith, but it doesn't take too long to get to a point where you can, especially if you join guilds that specialize in that sort of thing.
The Clonk games are great, but pretty hard to get the hang of. The control scheme can be a bit bizarre. Also, if water behaved in the real world like it does in the Clonk games, all life would be extinct. It never soaks into the ground or runs off. I get really into them occasionally for a few weeks, but the controls always turn me away eventually. Depending on the settings you choose, you have to handle power generation, piping for oil and water, elevators, wiring, all sorts of stuff. It's neat.

This is also very awesome. Looks like it's got quite a bit of potential for something really cool. I'll have to keep an eye on it.

Miner Disturbance doesn't have smelting, but it does have great digging mechanics, water, natural gas, and magma hazards. It's pretty fun.

I used to spend ages just gathering ore to make stuff. :P The crafting system was pretty sweet actually.
Part of the reason why I'm scared to go into MMOs now.
no really

Do some searching around for it, it's a indie game, and there's a free demo.
It plays a lot like that mining game that's on XBLA right now, but quite a bit more complex.
I just looked it up to check out myself, link is http://www.clonk.de/cr.php.

Has fairly elaborate systems for both mining and blacksmithing (Blacksmithing actually takes some skill and talent, not just checking off some boxes).
Here's a mining guide for the game:

Seconded. Takes me back to the Amiga era.
And speaking of the Amiga era, The Lost Dutchman Mine was an awesome mining game.

I don't know about the juggling, but pretty much.
