Help me buy an audio adapter

...for cheap!

I am pretty sure I want this or this. If you want to know what I'm trying to do, check the spoiler.
Buying a 360, and my monitor has a vga input so I'm going to use a xbox HD VGA cable. The cable transmits audio through 2 rca plugs. The thing is, my speakers are just PC speakers so they have a male stereo plug. So I'm pretty sure this is the adapter that I need.

Anyway, I don't want to spend 8 bucks on shipping a lousy adapter that costs ~1-2. So do any of you guys know of a store (brick-and-mortar) I can find that'll sell me the adapter I need for cheaper than online+shipping (couldn't find any for under ~9 bucks).

I checked monoprice, and I couldn't find the adapter I needed. I could buy 2 pieces, but one of them is out of stock.

The official VGA cable comes with the adapter you need.

edit: nevermind, read more closely. The second one is probably your better bet. I generally prefer the "wire" type adapters to the "solid" type -- it feels like the solid ones could snap off way more easily with the wrong kind of pressure.

If there's a Radio Shack near you they should have what you need - just say you want a stereo rca female to stereo 1/8" female adapter. I'm digging around the website to find it right now, I'll edit again once I do.

edit again: I can't find the exact one that you would need, but I use a similar setup and what I use is the adapter that comes with the VGA cables, and then this between it and my speakers:

You can find those pieces at any store that sells audio equipment of any kind; Radio Shack, Best Buy or Guitar Center.

Avoid chaining adapters together, that can decrease the quality of the audio big time and cause more problems down the line as the leads on an adapter wears out.

Yea, I if Radio Shack doesn't have it, check with a Sam Ash or Guitar Center.

    Thanks guys.

Is a 3.5mm jack the same thing as a 1/8'' jack?
