Out of curiousity, where do you live? The best bet is find a local furniture store, see what they have that you like, and look for those pieces online. While you can get away with a coffee table from online pics alone, I don't think I would want to buy a couch that I didn't sit on to test first.
Also, some local furniture stores may have cheaper shipping than you'd be able to get online.

Second this. Pretty nice selection since it's all from random places to start with, and the prices are good. If you're looking for more edgy or unique stuff, and money is no problem, try Crate & Barrel or CB2.

Delivery for any furniture is a real bitch though. Most stuff is so big that they have to use a private freight company, which isn't cheap.
