I went to watch some videos off my flash at a friends. I was sure it would work because he has the new dash. However the 360 told me he needs an update (he doesn't have internet access). I know you can get the dash as a download for a USB. But what about other updates?

and im pretty sure that you can only apply an update by burning it to a disc.
but furthermore...i remember that the avi compatibility thing...it didn't work when i tried using the disc update. I think it might be something you specifically need live for. Because, yeah, I had updated to the latest dash and avi wouldnt work for me.
And at my friend's place it only worked when he used live to update.
