Good Boss Fights?

Last week I look in my gaming backlog and decide to stay offline and go back in time a bit. What did I
find? Metal Gear Solid 3. I had the game for about 3 years and had only played up to the first enemy base
in the jungle. (I hated, and still hate the controls). But once I got into it, I realized the awsomeness of the
game and what I had been missing all this time. Good boss fights. Granted, they are still cpu controlled
morons to an extent. But a good boss fight goes beyond making you feel like your just fighting the
computer. Good fights really immerse you in the game and defeating them gives you the sense of accomplishment.

So, WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE BOSS FIGHTS? And what games would you recommend that have kick
ass boss battles? They don't necessarily have to be the hardest boss fights BTW, just the good ones.

Some of my favorites include:

Laughing Octopus - MGS4: Just fought her last night and all I can say is wow. Games have come a long
way. Not very difficult, but really creative. Her laugh in surround sound is particularly creepy. (I'm looking
forward to fights with the other bosses later in the game.)

The Fury - MGS3: I know everyone likes the battle with The End, which was good, but something about
fighting The Fury was fun to me. The music really fits the scenario and I like how later in the fight he
just gets more and more agressive. I couldn't help but feel like Arnold in "The Running Man".

The Colossus of Rhodes - God of War 2: The fact that the boss stalks you throughout the stage and the
QTE's that pop up in the perfect places make this battle truly epic.

Shadow of Colossus - Just the shear scale of the beasts you encounter and the unique ways of
attacking them made this game classic.

Eihinhander - PS1: Don't know the name but near the end of the game your flying up a runway and just
before going after the rocket being launched into space a giant robot comes after you. This thing is a
classic pattern boss but he literally throws everything but the kitchen sink at you. The cool part is you can
destroy parts of his body and weapons which can change the dynamics of the fight.

Gunstar Heros - Seven Force: A giant transforming robot piloted by the main characters brother. It
has seven different forms including a Hawk, a Hand Gun "a'la Megatron", and a Snake. Really cool idea for
a boss.

The lake monster in RE 4. Hell just about any boss in RE 4.

Pixy in Ace Combat Zero was a pretty awesome fight.

    No More Heroes.

Pretty much all of them. Even Doctor Peace.

But I especially enjoyed the fights against Destroyman,
    Jeane and Henry
. Bad Girl would have been a really good fight too, but she has so many hitpoints the fight ends up dragging on far too long.

Shinobu and Holly Summers were not as fun as Destroyman, but they were more difficult and therefore more satisfying to beat.

And then there's Letz Shake. Oh, Letz Shake.

Devilhand in Godhand. Matching each other punch-for-punch before gaining the upper hand and slamming him into a wall? Fuck yes.

Similarly, any Vergil fight in Devil May Cry 3.
