Nevertheless, I do hope it features primarily the cast of 1, which I thought was superior to the cast of 2.
This was one of my major problems with GS 2. I just couldn't get into the cast at all. Another hope I have for this game is that the heroes aren't so spineless in the face of the villains demands.
(Villain: We demand that super ancient staff you carry with you!!!!
Hero: Okay, here you go!.)
All in all, despite my complaining, still day one purchase.

...I didn't? Mainly because I ground the hell out of my characters.
That and I uh...
That's all I need, baby.
I only ditched them because out of boredom I grinded my characters in the original game to 65 before transfering meaning a 20 level gap.
I also preferred the battle music.
Looking back having the battle themes change based on your party configuration was an awesome feature

Edit: Piers is the only GS2 cast member I can see being superior to his counterpart. Except that mechanically he lacks Mias multi-heals.

A pity you got the second group so late meaning there were few times you could incorporate that into your strategy. Low-level runs of Golden sun would've been so fun with it

He also has a move that sets every djinn on every character currently fighting to recover. Meaning 7 turns until you recover your goddamn strength
