I've been looking at flights around Europe and I've noticed that after a certain date ALL flights are £5 even. There's no taxes, no fees, its flat out £5 after the dust settles.
Is this legit? If I bus down to Stansted can I really fly to Salzburg for £5 or will they demand more money from me?
Ryanair's legit. The thing you've got to look out for with them is that their baggage allowance is really tight, and the fees that they charge for 'overweight' baggage can be high. If you're traveling light, though, then no worries.
Echoing everyone else's sentiments. If you pack light, and don't mind flying into airports about 1 hour's bus ride outside the city you want to visit, Ryanair is a great service to use.
Each flight has a certain number of seats for that price, once those are bought up the price increases, that's why you see them in the future, but not for dates that are closer.
Ryan air does sell some rediculiously cheap tickets, bear in mind you're pretty much travelling air freight though. It's pretty uncomfortable sometimes.
Easyjet and Aer Lingus do stupidly cheap filghts as well sometimes.
EDIT: Oh, and be very careful of variable baggage limits, especially if you book a return and the limit on the return leg is lower than on the outward flight.

It's incredibly cheap, however it may be more comfortable if you get a large catapult and aim yourself in the general direction that you wanna go.
It's cramped sure (it's essentially a flying bus, with first-come-first-serve seating), but a vast majority of flights are under 3 hours. Meals and crap on the flight cost money (but again, they're short flights) and there are some strict baggage limits if you don't want to start paying money. They work best if you've got one carry-on with a few days of clothes (and preferably room to fit souvenirs or whatever you might end up buying).
I wouldn't want to fly transatlantic with them, but they're fine for 2-3 hour flights.
You'll also want to mark the costs of the return flight a well; they might not have the same deal as your departure flight.

Did they ever go through with their proposal to make passengers pay for use of the lavoratory?
Speaking of which -- pack a small bottle of water in your carry-on. They charge you ridiculous amounts for the in flight stuff that used to be free on large domestic carriers.

There's limits to how much water you can bring on AFAIK. Can't remember how much, but you'll have to look it up.

they didn't. They DO sell scratch lottery tickets on board now!
You should be warned that some of their cheap flights use the automated self check in computers.
However, if, even if you've booked on beforehand, the airport you're deporting from doesn't have said computers, you'll have to pay the additional cost on the spot. Happened to me a month ago...
oh yeah, and you'll also need to add a bus/ train ticket to that price..
If ryanair call the destination Brussels, it's actually a city in the same part of the country as brussels.. you'll usually need a train or bus to get anywhere descent..
ryanair sometimes sells the bus tickets on the flight...
Haha, this outfit sounds fantastic! I can just imagine buckling in for flight (does that cost extra?) when the Sham-wow guy gets on and tries to sell crap to the passengers the whole way.
That's also something to be aware of; Ryanair keeps costs down by flying out of rural airports. Most of these have a tram/bus/train back to the main city, with variable costs. At Milan Malpensa it's like a €10 shuttle ticket; in Berlin Schönefeld is supported by an S-Bahn route, in Rome there's a train or taxis (possibly other things I missed...taxis are always viable, but expensive). Any airport should have a cheap alternative. Ryanair describes the transportation options if you look at destination information.

yeah, looks like "Brussels" is Charleroi which is 60km from Brussels. But it wasn't brussels that specifically I was planning to head to. I'm wanting to do a beer tour through the entire country. I'll probably make a thread on it. After I get my shit figured out first.
Rome (Ciampino)
Barcelona (Reus)
Paris (Beauvais)
Milan (Bergamo)
and Dublin (You actually land at Dublin International!)
You are essentially treated like cattle, but for what you pay, you can't honestly complain about that.
The only thing we could complain about is the Ryanair bus from downtown Paris to Beauvais Airport (an ex-military airstrip) didn't have it's air conditioning working in 38°C weather. It was horrible.
Ryanair tends to be really really cheap as long as you buy far enough from the flight date - closer to the date things can end up getting pricey! So dont expect those cheap tickets to always stay that way.

"You're gonna love my nuts!"
No that would be somewhere uncomfortable. Unconviently would be trying to navitage the M25 in said Volkswagon.
And then he punches you in the face.

Other than that, no problems from me.
