HO-LEE SHIT! Blazing Saddles

Because this movie is awesome, and just about every clip I found on Youtube is worth posting, let's talk about Blazing Saddles and/or other Mel Brooks movies. Blazing Saddles is one of those movies I really didn't 'get' as a kid without any context. I can't watch it anymore without cramping up with laughter.

    Mel nails mixing of contemporary humor with out of place contexts, and his subtle cracks in the fourth wall are great too.

    I love Mel Brooks, but Blazing Saddles did nothing for me. At least, not the first thirty minutes. That's about as much as I could see because Netflix sent me a shitty DVD.

    I tend to click better with things if I know much about it before watching/playing it. I kind of just rented it knowing pretty much nothing about it, which sometimes harms my ability to enjoy things.

    So I'll probably like it more if/when I get netflix going again and have a chance to get another copy.

    guys did you know that there is a thing called the Mel Brooks collection on DVD that is like $80 anf comes with blazing saddles, young frankenstein, and others what I can't remember eventhough I am looking right at it vaecause I am drunk but whatevber there are good movies in it

    I see we've moved on to Young Frankenstein, but Centi, high fives! The original Producers is one of maybe two films that make me laugh hysterically every single time I watch them. I quote it all the time. Mostly it makes me look like a lunatic.
