I disagrea (hah! see what I did there?!), I believe most Korean MMOs to be directly influenced, if not rip offs of anime.
You know what Anime is, by your Sig/avatar. This puzzles me.
Sorry, I don't see it. Different styles altogether.
Games like Imagine, the Persona MMO, they go for the anime aesthetic in 3D, and it shows. NC Soft's stuff seems more like Korean supermodels in spiky armor for the men and fantasy lingerie for the women.
But enough of that! I stumbled upon these screenshots on a random folder, the other day:
Oh nostalgia. You almost had me, WAR. You were so close.
That wyvern fight (with our vastly underleveled group) was epic.
Hydra. And yeah, that's a fun fight, our group did it multiple times just for kicks. Fighting something that needs more than just tank&spank was refreshing.

Imagine(which isn't quite a Persona MMO by the way) doesn't really use an anime aesthetic. It's eastern, but it's more a homage to Kaneko's design style, which is fairly unique.
There have been some banner ads for Imagine using anime artwork, and they look awful.
It's a bit like how emo doesn't even fucking mean anything anymore.
Goth life style? Emo. Heavy Metal magazine art style? Emo. Androgynous men? Emo. White haired anyone, even in a fantasy setting? Emo. Elves of any sort? Emo. Anyone wearing black clothing unless it's a business suit? Man, that's so emo.
And it bugs the fuck out of me, because even though I can't most of the real emos, and even the emo-core origins of it all, I'd rather not blur the line so much that anything that isn't gritty or cartoonish be called emo... and yet, people are already doing that.
So my definition of anime, or anime-ish, is anything that looks similar to the girl on the right in the picture I posted a while ago. As a prime example of an anime MMO, I'd go with Dream of Mirror Online.
Call them Korean, if you'd like a catch-all, because that's about the only thing Dream of Mirror has in common with say... Lineage. Their art styles are at least as different as Warcraft compared to Warhammer.

If it's any consolation, I've taken to lumping 'emo' people (whatever that means) with the hipsters.
I'm sure the hipsters hate me for that.
I assocaite Anime with the Big Eyes Small Mouth look. And a good chunk of Asian cartoons, at least from what I've seen (though I'm no anime/Eastern animation connoisseur), are like that. Or at least the video games are.
To be fair, Warcraft and Warhammer are variations on the same art style (one being a direct offshoot of the other), with the former being toward the American comic-book end of the spectrum, and the latter the 70's fantasy artwork/metal album cover end. The "spectrum" in this case, would be stylized or exaggerated western fantasy art. I'm just trying to find a good name for the Asian/animea/Korean/something spectrum, as I've developed a distaste for pretty much anything along that line.
And emo should be defined as the dude I used to work with. He'd step outside to kick the stairs then tell the rest of us that we "just shouldn't ask what he's so intense about". That's emo.
If it's everything out of Asia, why not just Asian Pop?
I dunno; there might be pop art coming out of Asia I do like and just haven't seen (of course, the same is true for the manga/animation/cartoon stuff).
Honestly if a friend says "hay, look at this here new MMO" I'd probably be doing myself a disservice by discounting it if it fits into some vague generic category. Now I'm just more curious about how it all relates as I tend to get into how things are sorted and classified.
Don't turn in the quest(s), save them in the ToK intead. As you level up you'll get additional versions of "Welcome Back: Pacification" from the same guy. You'll need to stock up on these quests since you can't pick up older versions if you abandon them. Checking WDb, you should have five of these quests once you hit r25: at that point you can turn them all in.

It then popped up and said your work filter needs to man up, and posted goat.se on the _______ lines.
This place creeps me out, but it has good music.
And that guy Link from Highlander seems a bit lost.
I have no skin when it comes to anime artwork. I am so sick of it all.
Furries on the other hand... well, you've seen how Cynic gets all riled up.
Link was kiting the turtle.
chair to Creation and then suplex the Void.
It's terrifying. Never again.
The Korean MMO look is not anime in the least. It's more akin to shampoo commercial aesthetic.
Dragonica Online, for instance? That's anime. Guild Wars? Erm, no.
Aion is in the second camp.
Enough of my opinions though - how 'bout some more screenshots?

I wound up with a female Messian robe, so I gave it to her.

The "Let's Go To Boarding School" MMO?
Oh good. I was trying to see the appeal of an MMO based off of that picture, and I was failing spectacularly.
I'd play it to death.
Japanimation. Wait. Same thing.
Shit.
Uhhhh. Asian cartoons, probably.

Sort of.
That's it! Off to the doghouse with you! Shoo! :P

1st day of SWG. Day 0. The launch day. 8 hours of signing up and logging in frustrations.
And I already have a Twi'lek grinding her ass on me.
That famous bar. I was blown away the first time I was there.
It's artistic. I don't even know what I was shooting at.
The first day of vehicles. The screen shot quote says it all.
My Rodian was John Cena before anyone knew who John Cena was.
But screenshots like this make me remember why I played this game.
And ones like this are why I quit. It was just too easy.
It is just... intentionally evocative of some attractiveness ideal, much like photo-shoping the imperfections out of magazine photos.
chair to Creation and then suplex the Void.
Every char I'll make from now on is going to be a saloon waitress.
I love hanging out at the Apex and watching that poor Marauder sell out his friends to that Demon of Khorne, only to get killed by it in the end.
Stabbing a wolf through the spinal cord should be more then 121 damage. Still a cool shot though.
