So, I've got this over large collection of music, and I'm looking to expand it even further.
Some specific genres I could use expanding might me my taste in rock, decent techno, easy listening, foreign stuff, decent nonbad rap, foreign folk things, and above all else I need some damned stuff I'll get weird looks for singing in public.
Seriously now, suggest until you think I'm tired of you and your silly music, but keep suggesting it because I'm a greedy whore bastard.

Yes. Specifically, their first album, Freedom of Choice and New Traditionalists.
Also, "Smart Patrol/Mr. DNA"
I know.
I think most people think I'm joking by my response, but I think every iPod/mp3 player needs some Devo, some Kraftwerk, some Bauhaus, etc.
Anyways, recommendations:
The Gaslight Anthem
The Airborne Toxic Event
Alberta Cross ('Leave Us or Forgive Us' is such an amazing song)

Band of Horses, but mostly their first album. I Go To The Barn Because I Like The is a beautiful, beautiful song.
Architecture in Helsinki is a very peppy fun band, also.

I can't figure out why people like Gaslight Anthem
It's not even that's it bad, it's just bland
They're catchy as fuck and write pretty good lyrics, that's why.

But I can see your point about bland. They do cater to the radio setlist pretty handily.

Yea, I can agree with you as to why people would view them as bland, but my taste in music is not exactly the most edgy thing out there. I have my comfort zones.
Thanks Sirius Alt Nation!

Also, going from my childhold and growing up in a household that loved old country music, I'm going to throw out the name Merle Haggard and you just run with it.

I tried listening to The 59 Sound last night and I got like...three songs in? And I just realized suddenly that my brain had completely shut it out
Not consciously
Just paid it no mind.
So I hit stop and switched to Off With Their Heads, whose next album is going to be called The 69 Sound in reference to that album
