My legs are full of hurt

I worked in a clothing store for a year and it completely ruined my legs and back, because I could not wear my confortable running shoe and had to wear pretty but painful shoes. (I tried to get cute and confortable one but it still wasn't enough)

I'm not working there anymore, so no more standing in one place and hurting so much. But my legs and knees still hurt. And I have spider veins. And restless leg syndrome. And my feets are cold.

I know those are all symptom of bad circulation, so I'm already losing weight and being more active (ride my bicycle to work, but my leg still hurt, and I'm looking at more instant help. Any idea of what I could do?

And I really need vacation because I'm making a thread like this on a saturday night D: (But my legs hurt so much right now I can't sleep)

A friend of mine has similar symptoms and he gets relief from compression socks. I'm not sure if that will help or not, but it's worth a try.

What is the pain like in your legs? If it is in the muscles then it could possibly be attributed to low salt levels, or as you said bad circulation. Heat is a good way to relieve muscular pain.

As you mentioned it's a pain in your knees, it could very well be an undiagnosed case of osteoarthritis, that is arthiritis in the knees. My uncle suffers from this and is in pain pretty much all of the time.

All this said though, it's pretty evident that you need to see a doctor, I can't believe you haven't done already.

Also, you should have maybe got some comfortable inserts if your shoes were hurting that much, it's just common sense.

    Okay, the following:

    1) Comfy shoes, no heels!
    2) Walk a lot, lower leg circulation is partially powered by your calf muscles. (I'd be careful with running if you're knees are shot)
    3) Warm compresses when you are lying down.
    4) Soak your feet in warm/hot water (the heat differential stimulates circulation)
    5) (Self-) Massage, be careful with spider veins though, I don't know what massage does to those. Maybe see a good massage specialist.

Given that you are 24 (according to your profile) I cannot imagine it being anything serious and permanent...although spider veins are also something that you see in older people. But see a doctor none the less!

You mention that you are losing weight, so I assume you are on the heavier side (no offense), so you carry a bit more weight on your feet than others. As such, the fit of your shoes is more important, so go to an orthopedic shoe store and have lay in soles fitted, this can be pretty cheap (Maybe you can measure your feet and find a premade sole that fits your foot? My sister always had problems, so I only know the benefits :p ).

Perhaps you could buy a pair of those socks which improve the circulation of blood to your feet as an extra help, people wear them on planes when on long flights and they're sitting for long periods of time - standing for long periods of time probably has the same effect. I don't think they cost too much.

I'll look into compression sock, I should be able to get them at any drugstore I think? To clarify the situation, I already put insert in all my shoes, but staying put in one place still ruined my legs. And I'm not sure how to describe the pain, it's not a cramp so I'm not sure it's muscular, it sometime gets better if I put pressure on it. And I didn't go to the doctor because I don't have a family doctor following me and tought it would be stupid to go to an emergency clinic for something that didn't seem like an emergency.

oh and putting cold stuff seems to help more than warm stuff. and putting my legs up while sleeping also helped.
