This one is killing me. It seems so easy, that my mind is becoming a blank. Kindly help me gents!

"A hole to fill a foot or less, this place can be a spider's nest."

My guess was a grave, but something tells me that is wrong..Also, something about a sand trap keeps springing to mind. :/

I'm thinking a shoe hole? Does it have a name?

    Edit: I'm terrible at riddles.

yeah I would say a Shoe, only holds a foot (or less) and spiders often make their home in them.

I'm thinking something like a den (synonym for hole and also a term to describe a place where predatory animals such as spiders would nest).

If a shoe is a culturally common den for spiders in wherever then I guess that might work, but the hole fills the foot, not the other way around (den also doesn't fit with that part, but I'm not convinced by shoe).

Right, but how does a hole fill anything?

Right, but how does a hole fill anything?

Well, answer that and you might answer the riddle!

Or maybe it's just badly worded, idunno.

Could be poorly worded... maybe the hole to fill is a foot or less in depth.

Edit: I think the riddle is lacking punctuation?

Put a comma in between "fill" and "a", and "a foot or less" becomes what is required to fill the hole. So I'm going with punctuation problems.
