Why Isn't My Laptop Sound on My Television?

I'm trying to get my computer display to show up on my television in order to get it ready to be used for Hulu and other online/computer videos but so far have nothing. The TV is a Samsung LN40B540 and the laptop is an Acer Travelmate. It's currently connected to the television through a DVI to HDMI adapter, and the TV recognizes a device connected to it but isn't getting a signal. It's also worth noting there's a VGA port on the TV as well. I've already tried switching out HDMI ports with the same result.

So, advice?

I'm guessing you have, but have you set your laptop to display to a secondary monitor? I don't know what kind of video hardware it has, but it may only be able to send a signal to one display at a time.

Nope, and actually got this figured out now. Just had to open up the ATI control center and enable the second monitor. [strike]Solved![/strike]

Not solved! Where the Hell's my sound?

Sound won't go out DVI or VGA. Probably the easiest way to run that would be a minijack to stereo RCA cable.
