Need some DVD cover advice

How many pixels is the average, single disc, non-thin DVD cover insert?

I am cleaning up a bit of my dirtier DVDs and replacing them with newer fresher plastics.

Quite frankly if you are one of those people who write their name on a DVD then sell it you need to stop this practice. You only make yourself look bad when you do this.

Anyway, currently I am using the program paint to edit preexisting covers, so a few ideas on the "better use this" front are welcome there as well.

There is the CoverProject for video games, they might also have DVD covers available to download. If not I bet someone does.

    Double recommended for game covers.

Covers are usually 3225 pixels wide and 2156 high (10.75 x 7.187 inches). Make sure you use a high-res image, preferably 300dpi, otherwise when you print it'll be blocky.

I use Photoshop but it's probably not worth the cost it if all you're doing is dvd covers. I hear tons of great things about Paint.NET and The GIMP.
