USB keyboards and installing windows 7

I've recently ordered parts for a new computer I'm going to build and I'm wondering if it will be possible to install the win7 RC while using a USB keyboard. I remember in the past when I've had to reinstall windows xp, USB keyboards would not work so I ended up borrowing a ps2 keyboard to complete the install.

So will this work or do I get to go out and buy a cheap ps2 keyboard to install the OS??

If the answer to this question is hardware dependent, my MB is an asus m4a79 deluxe. If that matters..

Thanks for the help..

Windows 7 should have no problem with a USB keyboard, but if it does, then enable 'USB Legacy support' in BIOS.

Its a pretty standard feature and every ASUS motherboard I can remember having has had the option.

I installed Win7 with USB with no problems. If your USB keyboard works in the BIOS you should be good to go.

Yeah, I installed XP with a bluetooth keyboard connected to a USB bluetooth receiver on a new build which I really didn't think was going to work.

I think Win7 shouldn't have any problems with a regular old USB keyboard.
