Cd skipping

You guys have helped me out before pretty quickly, so many thanks.

Problem: Just bought a spankin' new CD, plunked it into my pc's disc drive, ripped it with db power amp in FLAC. I try and play a few tracks, no problems...I get to one in particular and it starts skipping and wigging out...this is a track from my harddrive, not the disc. I move on and try one more, same issue, different track, different spots in the song it skips/distorts.

I think it might be the CD itself, but it's free of blemishes...I play it in winamp, and the same issue arises. I am angry, two tracks on this disc are damaged, for whatever reasons, I think. So I try loading it up (the actual cd tracks, not the ripped tracks) in windows media player, and the tracks play flawlessly... I sink in my chair, as become quite confused. I've tried it in my home stereo as well, no issues.

So, why won't it rip correctly (tried riping it in wav instead of FLAC, same issues) or play correctly in winamp? Stumped I am.

Do the skips always happen in the same place in the ripped tracks?

Yeah, close all other programs and re-rip, try playing it again.

    Yes indeed they do.
Tried playing just the disc in winamp with nothing else running, same with ripping.

This is really very strange, as I have NEVER had this type of problem before. I could think of reasons if it was just the disc or just winamp, but it's both the disc and the ripped files...in two different programs.

Seems that my laptop likes the disc in Winamp just fine. Ripped file stills plays the same on my laptop however.
