Why am I allergic to a friend?

A friend of mine was staying with me for a week, which is fine and I don't mind. He left now, but during his stay - I constantly had a stuffy nose. The same kind of stuffy nose that I get when I am around cats.

He showered daily. His clothes were clean and went through the laundry recently. He is not around animals and himself, is also allergic to cats (and he no signs of it). He doesn't work in a environment where I get a stuffy nose either.

So what the hell?

    I have that reaction to some cologne and perfumes. Some shampoos with all sorts of stupid herbs and berries in them as well. I have no real allergies either, I just think some of the shit people decide to cover themselves with on a daily basis a.) smells like shit and b.) is irritating to my sinuses

    Maybe the detergent or laundry softener he uses.

    Yep, could be his cologne. Perfumes usage is banned from some work places because of allergies.

    He uses the same shampoo as me and I don't think he uses any cologne or perfume...

    It may be that his move in introduced a mold into the household and it is currently flourishing somewhere

    A cold combined with a search for a reason is why.

    Unless he comes by and it happens again I would put it up to coincidence.
