Does anyone know of a way to put saved games on an external HD instead of the memory cards? I need to buy a new PS2 and I'd rather not spend $25 for a memory card if I don't have to.
Transfer saves to and from a memory card to the HDD
You cannot-
Use a HDD with the Slim PS2's
Save PS2 save files directly to the HDD
Load save files from the HDD
You can use other HDD's, like the Maxtors to increase space, but being that the official PS2 HDD's are 40 gigs, I see no need to unless your using the HDDLoader (which I won't talk about here).

But wait - You've already got the external HD, and are getting a new ps2? would plugging the hd into the new ps2 not allow you to use it?

Go to a pawn shop/eBay and get a memory card for like $5.
