for the last few days, my main computer exploded and i've been confined to my laptop which I normally rarely use. I've begun to appreciate the sheer quietness of it compared to my tower, I've already ordered a fanless video card.
my next step is the mouse. it never entered my mind that I could live a computer life without the endless clicking of the mouse. after a few days on the laptop I find myself loving the touchpad and it's tap to click and scrolling areas.
some quick googling brought me to http://www.cirque.com/desktoptouchpad/productsandorders/smartcat.aspx which looks fairly nice and seems to have all the features I'd want in a standalone piece (tap to rt-click, mainly)
does anyone have experience using this model? are there other companies out there doing it better? it seems like multitouch is becoming more prevalent, is it likely a multitouch standalone touchpad is in the near future that would be worth waiting for?
